Blood Gulch is too hated for contrarian reasons. Exile and Pitfall are Halo 4, so... nuff said. And Spire is just a meme map. It's lucky it even made it this far.

Well my friend nostalgia is a huge thing and honestly can you really say thats bad? Is your good memories make something not true? I mean if you can argue Blood Gulch is bad because its just nostalgia can't someone just say that about anything?

Blood Gulch was a bright casual map people played on LAN games. All those young kids. Teens. College bros who had 1-4 TVs and ate food while driving around on BG.

Now why wasn't sidewinder as mainstream? Maybe RvB. Maybe because it's dark and has some spooky vibe to it verses blood Gulchs bright sunny theme. Maybe because Coagulation was loved.

Does it deserve to win? Eh. I like it. But more of a fun casual map full of memories. I mean what does best map mean? Lockout is good. But sucks for 2 flag. And guardian sure isn't a good vehicle map.

Best map is mostly a mix of nostalgia. Opinions and even a tiny bit of random picking

The entire emphasis of the scene is that while humanity was shit, the covenant never even came close to getting Atriox. So Atriox was better than the Covenant.
At which point, the Prophets decided it was a good idea to fire all Elites and put Atriox's species in charge.
