I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Persona, is in fact, Shin Megami Ibunroku Persona, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona. Persona is not a videogames series unto itself, but rather another spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei series made useful by the Shin Megami Tensei lore, spell names, and gameplay comprising a full videogames series as created by ATLUS.
Many gamers play a spin-off of the SMT series every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the game of the SMT series which is widely played today is often called “Persona 5”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the SMT series, developed by the same company. There really is a "Persona", and these people are playing it, but it is just a part of the series they are playing.
