You can, but it involves donating loads of meds to them. My advice is to go do the DLC to build up XP, then come back to the wasteland when you're a demigod. I usually side with House, personally, but that's because I tend to play characters who're happy enough being a well-rewarded henchman rather than an anarchist or wannabee leader.

the vegas areas around the strip combined have plenty of quests, check out westside, north vegas and freeside

We've been over this a bunch user. She was a raider slave for years before she was at the combat zone. Starting at 18, and assuming she's been at the combat zone a while, that still leaves a handful of years unaccounted for.

The circlejerking you speak of used to be the majority opinion in /fog/. That poster has a point in the sense that openly criticizing new vegas nearly never happened because we had already come to a point, after endless cycles of discussion, that NV is indeed the better fallout game and well written RPG, and that 3/4 are reaching for fundamentally different goals.

It is a little weird now that there is this Beth Fallout VS NV narrative springing up again, we had mostly moved past it before Fo4 dropped.

I always thought the settlement system could become more meaningful if I could turn settlers into more of a resource. Capturing them in battle big boss style, shipping them back and reusing them as guards and disposable companions. If only there was a mod that could let me do that, as well as fix the abhorrent raiding system, and I actually think you could recreate the gameplay loop from MGSV in Fo4.
