I like him a lot. With a merge and a hone he's a really fast DC Cav, and with vantage he also can bait a lot of units and kill on retaliation/on vantage proc. He's by no means perfect, but he does his role great.

As someone who believes that Nephenee is better than Camus, I still think Camus is great, especially if you have cavalry buffs to toss onto him.

His issues aren't even with him as a unit, it's more just that he needs those cavalry buffs to keep ahead of the recently released lance units, and cavalry teams don't have the room for him anymore in the Arena. He's still worth investing in, even if you'll only use him for PVE or Arena Assault.

It's just I'd rather have someone who's super fast even without stat buffs and the combination of the Slayer Lance+ and Wrath over Gradivus.

-Speed is fine because of her natural low 25 speed and Brave Axe's -5.

Even with Hone and Goad Fliers, you only hit 30 speed at neutral, which is still getting doubled by nearly everything, and still cannot double or barely doubles armor units.

He's good, but nowadays nothing special. His stats are just average and he has no Res to fight mages, not even red mages. And his Def is just alright, so that won't help him much against archers. I usually relegate him to AA these days ever since Brave Lyn permanently kicked him off the spot of my cavalry team (while Priscilla still swaps in when needed).

The mighty Sable Knight has fallen from grace. And since he'll never be rerun, it looks like he's doomed to fade into mediocrity.

So the only stats I ever really pay attention to in FE are these:

ATK (STR/MAG + Weapon MT + Weapon Rank Bonus)
SPD
DEF/RES

...and only when I need to check how much damage an enemy will do to me, or if they'll double me. That's literally the only time I'll look at stats. Do you guys consider that playing poorly? I feel like maybe I am compared to y'all. Currently playing through Conquest Hard for the first time btw, still early on.

*I asked this before but I want to do it one more time since there might be some different people in this thread with different advice. People mentioned the battle stats as something to look at to gauge enemies so you know what to expect. CRIT I get, but HIT I ignore because I always assume an enemy will hit me. What about AVOID? When/how often should I be looking at it?
