I like anime, manga, and Japanese video games along with the cultural aesthetics but living in Japan sounds really hard, work ethics and all.

Try Tekken, it's pretty fun and T7 is a great game. Maybe you will like 3D fighters.

If you want 2D and don't mind a small playerbase then KoF 14 is pretty cool.

He's second or third generation I believe so he's American born but both of his parents are Argentinian. I hate melee but he's one of the only ones worth watching because he's really good and parts jiggle puff.
