I've been playing WH2 today for the first time (as High Elves) and there's a lot of weird shit I can't tell if it's a bug or supposed to happen. Like how do you tell which bonuses stack and which don't? For example, buildings which give a + to rank on recruitment don't stack, while character traits which do the same thing do stack. And do public order buildings only work in the ideal climate? I'm getting zero effect from them elsewhere, but I can't see where it says that should happen.

Is it just me that sucks at TW2 economy or are the gold penalties at Very Hard a whole lot harder than they were in TW1?
In TW1, I've won with all factions on Very Hard. In TW2 battles are not much harder but it is hell to maintain even one full-stack of NOTelites, never mind a proper doomstack or two. inb4 go swimming for treasure, I'm getting a lot of nogold or 1,500 gold treasure while having an extra admiral just for that increases my upkeep 1,200+ PER turn.
It's no longer fun to play at VH.

Lads what should my dwarf roster look like? I like to have usually:
4x Ironbreakers (to hold the line and launch explosives) 2x Hammerers (flanks to smash up armor) 2x Organ Guns (place them right on top of Ironbreakers with the guns just after the first line to open up on the enemy) 2x Drakes (do the same as organ guns, usually in the centre to scorch inf waves) 2x Stone Throwers (behind the inf block for long range) 2x Quarrellers/Thunderers (behind inf lines if crossbows, guns if armor) 1x Engineer hero guy (to buff the gun line)

You can't plop a race down on the map and have them be involved in the vortex campaign like the four main races are without adding special shit.
Chaos invasion is just doom stacks who target the player. You can put a race in there without any special features and it'll be incorporated into the chaos invasion.
