the in-game material helper does most of the work for you, and you can buy any purchasable materials directly from the blacksmith menu now so you don't have to root around for them.

Hammer can drain the monster's stamina. That's... something.
Hammer is also a lot of fun

Some weapons, besides just knowing the monster, definitely require more skill and practice than other weapon classes. People make the mistake to just look at TAs and judge weapons by those times. There is a way bigger pool of players making TAs with Great Sword than , if you will, Hammer or of course Gun Lance. I'm not saying GS isn't overpowered in some games, but of course chances are the best TAs are GS or Gun players.

Not sure about you but I kill a Shagaru just as fast with Hammer as I kill it with GS and I tested it quite a few times. Some monsters even a lot faster, Barioth for one.

Sure, it could still be a bit stronger, especially because it's such a risky weapon, but again, no one forces you to play the most imbalanced MHs.

It lacks a Memezar's but yes, pretty good.

Speaking of P3rd... Tenderizer in this game is kinda OP, right? I heard it gives you 50% affinity. What if your weapon already has 50% affinity? Do you have 100 then?

In every title before Generations/X, Weakness Exploit gives you an extra 5% damage on any part you hit with a hitzone of 45 or over. It was only changed to 50% bonus affinity in X/Generations.

ex: If you hit a part that takes 45% of your raw damage, with Weakness Exploit it would instead take 50% of your raw damage.

All the steve weapons are pretty good looking. This is the one I used the most. With evade extender, you never needed a whetstone ever again

I like all of the Seregios weapons after they get their big "blade" upgrade.

for example: Altair upgrading into Lana Sedition gives it this big huge blade instead of a tiny spike. Lots of other Seregios weapons go through this visual upgrade.

I don't even use SnS but I love this. And it seems to be actually decent in 3rd.

I even made and upgraded it but never touched it so far.

It's been my signature weapon for forever pretty much. I just love the ludicrous amount of Dragon element and tuning fork design.
