very few snk fighting series actually had extended past 1v1 though fatal fury only had co-op mode in one game for example and it was the first game and then it settled into 1v1 all the way up to mark of the wolves samsho has always been 1v1 fu'un's first game (savage reign) was 1v1 with plane switch like fatal fury last blade series is 1v1 games with adk like ninja masters, world heroes, aggressors, all 1v1 aof is 1v1 i shouldn't throw this out there because it's actually sunsoft's but ww7 is 1v1

KoF will never be accessible unless they completely gut it. You could become the master of all combos by grinding combos in training mode 24/7 for two years and you'd still get completely bodied by any above average player because its difficulty stems from the space control game, namely hopping and preventive anti-air.
That said, down down motions for invincible lp DPs would probably put a big dent on the viability of hop-ins and I'm not sure I'd like it. Simplify everything else.

I wish I had bought the anthology when it came out on ps2. I missed it and the SS anthology as the arcade classics collection. If these titles were to get some form of physical release for PS4 (It'll never happen) I'd jump on and get them.
