I played the game myself, I'm perfectly aware of how terrible 99% the enemies you are facing are, especially in the actual open world, how piss easy it is and how you can pause for healing yourself.

Of course, dependent on the monster. GS is better/easier than LS against Rathalos, LS is better/easier against Nargacuga than GS etc. That's good. Match-ups should be balanced, though. Lance needs more monsters it's good for.

Lance works best on monsters that don't charge around a ton so you can actually stonewall shit, or take a few hops backwards and charge back in, and stay in their face. Gore and Shagaru are good examples.

In Dragon's Dogma you wouldn't even need this kind of perfect positioning and precision. You aren't knocked over when getting hit and you can literally charge your GS for as long as you want, kek. Hitzones also aren't really a thing they are in MH and you can just pause to heal. It's so unsatisfying. Monsters also die in one hit.

DD has a lot of MH light elements like GS and charge attacks, fast bow gameplay and even Arc Shot, DB, obviously fighting huge monsters etc. Now most people who played it never played Monster Hunter before. Imagine you never ate a burger in your life and then eat a slice of bread with a sausage and molten cheese. It will taste like a burger.
