first for japanese produced animation as it relates to various forms of media

The only thing you should be listening to while developing your game is music that complements the tone of your game, or your game's own soundtrack.

If you just listen to the shit you like, you're not going to get optimal results.

What is fun, anons?
How do I make fun game?

my imag got shitposted by nodevs that makes me destinde to become relatevly sucessful (not sucesfol by actual gamedeverloper standards)
good nigth agodogy

>official /agdg/ notepad
Is this our GDD

Who is the Harvey Weinstein of AGDG?
Is it Vine?

the OP is getting pretty lengthy

>not qtbeardev
Has his stalking already been forgotten?

For the anons giving me advice last thread

>want to make space VR game
>can't come up with actual gameplay
>thinking maybe some kind of homeworld type thing but would just watching ships battle in VR be boring? probably. Ordering ships around and watching them move is fun but after that it's like k

I'm determined to make this work. With the touch controllers, otherwise I would just be making another elite dangerous/star citizen

Can we not bully this cute autistic girl this thread? Just leave her and her gross looking cube bunny game alone!

subtle

Batchscript. She has a stockpile of agdg discord-fag dick pics

what kpop? check out loona

but rn im listening to access to arasaka because it fits my game theme best

also wew lad just had a fire in my dorm and we all had to evac. was afraid id lose my dev progress not very much

this is a shitty way to start up a shitpost and you know you it

literally who?

i want to make a super spoopy horror game where the first hour of the game is on the lines of Amnesia until you get a shotgun and turn into a doom guy-esque badass

Entire game is gonna be rough looking anyway but i may add a few in betweens later

whats wrong with people

you should read I am a Hero manga

ill look into it

>oval handle
that would be painful on your palm when you hit something

op image really sums up how I felt trying to do anything game design related. I gave up before I even began.

are you commited to baking in the hard black outlines

oh, i feel like an idiot for not noticing
will fix
i like the way they look

Is Discord ruining /agdg/ with their attention-seeking behavior and zero contribution to the thread in terms of progress?

also the blade is too thick. it looks rubber.

Boku posts plenty of progress.
It's the anime reaction image posters that are the real problem.

Here's a crazy idea. People should stop giving them attention and start posting their own progress.

Steamchat is much worse

>complains about lack of progress
>posts anime instead of progress
Amazing, truly amazing.

Personally I'd make the grip a bit more realistic, in how the wrap is done.
You seem to be going in a strange fantasy way, but look up some reference. For the case here the closest sensible one may be a leather spiral that overlaps a bit on itself as it goes up/down.

Thanks for the (you)s

again: ditch the gradient on gold texture, make it nice and shiny, give it edge highlights

better? or still too thick?

upload an obj and ill show what i mean

I posted progress just today though. I only really post progress in the threads, everything else is on the discord, unless I'm seeking anonymous opinions about game design.

I think he jus means swords that can be called such are supposed to be sharp on the edges, not flat. You're doing form over function or such.

>inflatable rubber furry doll world
>inflatable rubber sword
checks out

RPG Protip: It's more pleasing aesthetically, and feels more heroic, to have your protagonists on the left, heading right, than to have them on the left, heading right.

Why is there an inbetween before the punch instead of after?

This is old advice, but you just made me realize that every time I've envisioned the final march of my non-RPG, it's been from right to left.

what?

But what about on the left, heading right?

>to have your protagonists on the left, heading right
>than to have them on the left, heading right
These AGDG riddles get more complex by the day

last one before bed, give me more stuff to improve and ill post tommorrow when i have the time

>I was merely pretending to care about the quality of the thread I'm actually a shitposter myself.
ok retard

>caring about quality
You sound like a Discord fag

Since my detailing sucks I should just keep the blood one color

confirm/deny

Hey guys! Wow it's time for another episode of Video Game Or Video Shame, with your host -- It's me, Video Jame! Alright alright let's get this going today! Are you ready?

Video Game

Video Shame

Hey congratulations to everyone! "See you" next time

yes
you were just looking for permission,
trust your gut next time

I'm the third shamed post. Mind elaborating on your reasoning?

love what ya do my man

...

Not him, but: Posting about posting about gamedev is not gamedev.

every time

>didn't even bother to change your name
Talk about the true video shame.

It's very much on purpose given that he does it every time.

I've been away for a while, how long has this been going on?

>people using pirated versions of maya instead of blender
dumbasses

I'm retarded and only need to know how to do one thing for my ""game"". How do I get an object to find another object with a specific variable?

I want to do a bullet that homes in on certain types of entity, specifically.

Probably about a year, going off a gut feeling.

No idea how I've missed it then. I must not come here enough.

You can keep a list of objects and go through it (assuming you're not including "tiles" or have a fuck ton of objects).

If you have a lot... you can restrict to a given area and search it for objects.

Oh, I'm also retarded. This is for GML.

I guess i will try that later
what do you think about the main frames tho?

working on the bear cave today....i dont know if ill do a proper unwrap of it or not..thatll take a whole day so probably no

is this a porn game?

If this is for GM:S, create an object and name it par_[entity] replace brackets with whatever thing you're homing. For every object that you want to be homed, make it a child of this par_[entity] object. In your missle/whatever object that is doing the homing write something like

var target = instance_nearest(x, y, par_[entity]);
//write your movement code to go to targets position

This is pretty simple stuff dude. Go through the gamemaker documentation or watch some more tutorials.

>First thing I do when I open a game is disable the music.
I do that too.

i gave up on using blend space to do the diagonal animations (it was causing some weird animations), so i did it myself

next step is to make a one handed weapon and do some attack animations

Can he turn?

If I'm going to run a kickstarter, should I set up an LLC?

Hey guys wanna hear a joke?
>Godot

he will always face the cursor, but i havent done that yet

Why can't any of you animate a walk cycle properly?

>should
yes
>must
no. you are spending money upfront to reduce the impact of a few unlikely events. it's certainly cleaner to do it now, but you can always wait until you have some capital to work with

The Discord is literally filled with complete and total morons who argue over the dumbest shit and then you get blocked or muted for telling them they are retards.

If you think /agdg/ is a cesspool the Discord is 100x worse.

Depends on how taxes work where you live

do you expect us to know how to walk properly you fucking normie?

That's doesn't really work when
a) both the firing entity and the target entity have the same parent entity
b) the firing entity and the target entity could very well be two instances of the same object, with their only difference being a 'team' variable

>Start Game Dev
>Use Godot
>Months pass with frustration and little progress

>Buy GMS
>Rapid development
>Excellent built in tutorials
>It just works
>No 5000 pages of shitty scripting errors

I'll never use Godot again.

>few unlikely events
such as?
And would it be ok to set it up after the ks?

US

Then you need to create a version of what I wrote to work with how your objects are designed. Also I don't think instance_nearest targets itself.

If you want to be successful, yes. Otherwise, continue being a hack at your leisure.

where is your game?

Getting sued. With an LLC your personal assets are protected. Once you have some amount of money (and KS is very public), you become the target for patent trolls and others.

Going bankrupt. Again, your personal assets are protected.

There may be other tax advantages, depending on your jurisdiction.

I say low-probability, because for your first game, 99% of the time you will be fine working out of your personal account, under your own name. Once you have some capital from an early game, you take the time to set up an LLC for subsequent games. The scenario that really fucks you over is if your first game is unexpectedly massively successful, you become a target, and you don't have an LLC.

Anyone interested in leasing some mechanics? I have specials on a few of the platformer jumping mechanics I hold patents on.
And if you are already infringing on my property, well we can put that behind us. No need to drag you into court and take everything you own. :) Looking forward to working with you!

>The scenario that really fucks you over is if your first game is unexpectedly massively successful, you become a target, and you don't have an LLC
Has this ever even happened?

>i made it into the video game catagory

YES I WON

You can really tell when the mentally ill shitposter wakes up.

you sound like a retard from the discord

same, high five bro!

it depends. 1st looks like fresh blood. 2nd looks like dried blood. 3rd looks a little weird. 4th looks like viscera (like maybe some brain chunks mixed with the blood)

>using an inferior product when vastly superior ones are available
dumbasses. No but really Blender is trash.

\o

Like I said, it's fine to take your chances. But once you're working with tens of thousands of dollars, you should set up an LLC. And it's easier if that's done before you start earning money, rather than transferring the IP and everything from your personal accounts to the LLC.

so no example

This fucking guy again.

>vastly superior
Already confirmed for stupid right here. Further proven by your inability to back it up.

Also, if you're pirating, you're illegally developing your game. In the 0.0001% chance your game becomes hugely successful, it will cost you dearly.
