by crystals I assume you mean Blue Sky Crystals (BSC), you can get 1 daily from finishing co-op missions and from Zois.

Zois has a 20% fail rate during magfest though.

The only non-NM way to get staff drops is hosting extreme thunder so I've been doing that. The rate is pretty good.
Watery NM is for people that can't beat Thunder but still want the final uncap materials for the staff.

Is url hopping with viramate bannable?

It's really fast compared to having to go home > raid > raid id > summon screen but I'm not really keen on getting banned for it.
