premium is all the dlc packs, the revolution edition is the same thing but also includes the base game
don't buy shortcut kits. there are usually 1 or 2 good weapons for each class and the rest are just filler.

But I like using the filler weapons...

Also is it just me or are the optical variants of a lot of weapons more inaccurate than the iron-sights versions?

If you fire slowly while standing still the factory version will be more accurate generally
Optical variants have better moving accuracy and standing while firing quickly

honestly flak should be removed from the game. ace pilots were a historical fact and they also add fun to the game for both sides.

Is it better to purchase BF1 for the pc or ps4? I can run it on my pc at ultra at 60fps but then again ps4 has a way higher player count in exchange for an average of 45fps

Be very sneaky and focus on survival. You want to go after lone enemies ripe for backstabbing/bayonetting

You could also try using trench raider/cavalry but I'm not sure that would count

Got kicked from a match thirty minutes ago with the message “This server is undergoing maintainence” and now the entire server browser is empty, no matter what the search parameters are

I had terrible connection issues in the three matches I tried to play today, it was unplayable. Funny enough, before the update my lag wasn't too too terrible. Could've been better but not terrible. It seems like the "fix" fucked my connection over more than anything.

It was splitting the operations playerbase, and a sizeable majority of operations players preferred 64-player operations anyways. Better to just erase it.

All of the best primaries in the game can be acquired in just a few hours of starting the game up for the first time. No reason whatsoever to buy the "unlock shit now" packs.

Anyone else addicted to fucking slide chaining? Basically similar to slide chaining in Titanfall 2, but without the jumping. It just works, you can rapidly change your direction with it too. It’s insane.

Why does quitting a game take 12 hours? I just took so long to quit the game just loaded me into the next Operation without me getting a chance to leave.

At the end of the game it starts loading the next map. If you wait until this happens, you can not abort the load process. Meaning that if you quit at the end of the game you have to wait for the next round to load.

I usually average around 50-60 ping. And just look at the ping on the majority of the other players. At least it isn’t 400 like the last update did.

In WWI and WWII all kinds of crazy shit was going on.

Honestly the next game instead of focusing on gun variety should focus on faction variety. Like the old Battlefield games. Every faction has their rifle lineup, standard AR-15s for the US and whatnot.

Sprint to top speed, crouch for the slide effect, hit crouch again before the slide animation completes (hard to convey just when that is, you have to feel it out), give half a second for sprint to carry on, crouch again to slide, cancel slide animation by hitting crouch again, etc

Once you get the timing on right you can add in some A or D for momentum redirection (can do it rapidly too) and you can pretty much slide around a map while hipfiring with trench-type weapons.
It’s not totally viable to keep doing it when someone is focused firing on you, but if someone is trying to snipe your or something from a moderate distance, or a tank is trying to blast you, you can often just push right up into their faces. Otherwise, it’s also great for sliding into cover on diagonals and shit without getting shot because your hit box seems to basically be constantly bouncing around.

What I love about BF1 most is the map design.
BF4 is clean cut corners, clean boxes and clean rectangles. Flat floors, flat peeks, boxed architecture on everything. It’s simple, boring, and predictable. After a certain point, every map feels the same.

In BF1, we’ve got all sorts of jumble fuck going on. I don’t think I can summarize it. We’ve got jagged walls and zig zag trenches and shell craters and crumbling houses and tiny towns and sparse bunkers and rolling hills and various kinds of trees and rock formations and mountains and it just goes on and on. The maps actually have character beyond their appearance, the maps each have a gameplay character of their own. Especially when you compare each map in Conquest and Operations, their design variance REALLY stands out. And the maps are typically great in both modes, while being quite different.

I haven’t seen a single one in these threads, in-game, or on the forums
