Ann is lazy in her sidequest specifically because it's a laziness brought on by natural talent. In the metaverse, she's not particularly better than anyone else, and if this laziness, did manifest, then people would die.

Ann's flaw isn't laziness, it's that she's dumb as hell, and THAT comes up quite a bit, although not quite as often as Ryuji, because Morgana, the one who usually points out characters being stupid, wants to stick his cat cock in Ann.

Their flaws and strengths do come into play, like how Makoto isn't good at socialising with other teenagers and she couldn't get through to Futaba when they were trying to get her out of the closet while Ann could because each character has different strengths and flaws.

That's just grasping at straws though. Aside from that Ryuji - Morgana argument, the entire group was constantly on the same page, agreeing on pretty much anything. Overall, they didn't play on the group dynamics nearly enough, and for a game that that relies on the whole alliance of thieves thing, that's kind of problematic.

I don't think it was as exaggerated as you say, if anything that's more like how teenagers usually act.
