This is the main problem with Appmon and I couldn't have worded it any better.

But their development are tied to the plot. Haru, Yuujin, and Rei's are heavily tied to the plot. Eri's idol episodes are connected in the bigger picture where Appliyama was formed by L-Corp, and Leviathan stole private data of the fans. The only one who was not connected enough was Astra's, even if Apptube was supposedly made by L-Corp as well.
