It's all about bad early game. Honestly Kayn needs the jungle because he can't do jack about many champions in the first few levels until he gets his transformation.

Besides Blue Kayn works better as a roaming threat à la Talon but without the lane good early game. I might try him in the mid sometime, but I can tell he doesn't work top, where all the chads workout.
