That is literally it. It started out as a multi-platform clone of Demon's Souls with a bunch of Berserk references, then it got out of hand when Bamco demanded sequels.

I mean, it's nice lore. It reads well. I wouldn't say it's deep, it's intentionally murky specifically so that you can draw your own involitable conclusions.

No cycles were involved in the slaying of Demons, it was cut and dry.
BB was a little stranger, though, since cycles are more or less nightly hunts but I'll refer to them as cycles for the sake of things. Yharnam Sunrise was the equivalent of you yourself escaping the cycle, but it potentially continuing. Honoring Wishes meant you oversaw the new cycles, but might have been able to get more people out. Childhood's Beginning is arguably the best, as it completely breaks the cycles.

So how does this all correlate to Dragon's Dogma?

It isn't "deep" in any sense of the word. "Vague" and "incomplete" is more fitting, because then people can just headcanon whatever the fuck they want once given enough in-game crumbs. Which is intentional since Miyazaki wanted to recreate the experience he had as a kid of reading English books without understanding English, then creating stories to fill in the parts he literally could not read.

Patches saves Greirat on the third trip if you don't buy the armor from him (so it needs to be NG+ because you need the armor for Sieg to save him in the kitchen), and before sending Greirat to Drangleic Castle or opening the Archives Door, you complete Patches questline on the Ringed City, then have him survive the fight against the spear. Then send Greirat to the castle, and then Patches. Greirat will come back alive and you'll find Patches Ashes and the Splitleaf GS on the place where Greirat Corpse was.

When DaSIII gets a complete edition, I seriously hope FromSoft adds a bunch of Abyss Watcher npcs for you to encounter and fight.

The base game plus both DLCs already is the "complete" edition, dingus.

What autistic steps do I need to take to make every NPC appear and stay at firelink? As long as I don't talk to them, most of them stick around because their questline doesn't progress until you interact.

Give it a special attack when it's two handed. Instead of blocking, L1 gives you a quick jab that true combos with an R1. This will also be my answer if you ask about any other ultra weapons.

Anyone with enough focus and two brain cells to rub together will be able to dodge an UGS every time. UGS are still Dark Souls 1 speed while everything else has been turned up to Bloodborne. Greatswords in DS1 were faster than greatswords in DS3. It's ridiculous.
