You aren't farming 40ap for pumpkins, you're farming it for getting a copy of the CE so that you can LB it with the shop copies

They can't, they only drop from 40AP and then 50AP when it gets added. And they drop on Guerrilla quests but you can only do them once, withdrawing them to retry might be a wise decision if you had no luck farming pumpkins on 40AP.
