Could you suggest a noob-friendly SSF viable build that isn't a LMB click snoozefest? Should I start fresh every league or experiment new builds with items found previously? I tried to get into PoE before Oriath with a firestorm build but with no luck.
James Stewart
>bought all the gear I needed >21/20 ek first try >other gems almost 20/20 >tab full of reds >another tab full of beachheads >enough chaos to pay Zana's breach tax

Landon Sullivan
>SSF why though
Asher Gray
How do we fix PoE bros ? Ill start >introduce softcore and hardcore only leagues and league challenges again >severely nerf ascendancies so that the average ascendancy gives you as much power as 1 scion ascendancy >remove scion >remove VP >severely buff the HP of mobs and re-work one shot mechanics >nerf the aoe and damage of some projectile skills (barrage, tornado shot, KB) >bring back CoC >severely reduce the droprate of maps above t6 and make them as difficult as current t16s
Anything you would like to add ?
Adam Roberts
and whatever broken builds after these changes will be the meta then people will still complain about this and that, trading too, etc etc
Sebastian Martin
Wait for Diablo 4
Cameron Jenkins
>do 250x spider forest >zero doctors >get bright idea to do shaped burial chambers for a change >10 maps in this happens wooooooow
Charles Morgan
its not about the meta anymore user its about the approach people have to the game PoE used to be about surviving and conquering as much content as you could with your build nowadays its all about speedrunning maps and making as much virtual currency as possible there is no challenge anymore This game essentially became RoS, running through easy maps (rifts) in minutes and AoEing down enemies as fast as possible to earn virtual currency
John Hill
Glacial Cascade mines, no uniques needed, just need to get spell damage items, and you go regen so the lab and trials should be easy to do. It can take a little getting used to however, and you can't link a spell totem to a detonate mine gem until you drop one.
Chase Bell
>hiding health pool clever little shitcrow
Gavin Wilson
...
Lucas Clark
>hardcore
lmfaooo
Isaac Gutierrez
>playing deadcore
joke's on you.
Blake Bailey
Oh I have negative health dude. Still feels really survivable though due to freezing everything.
Lucas Lee
>playing a league in which all you do is autistically grind virtual currency for meme reddit items ???
Jason Morgan
that's all leagues
Easton Lewis
why does this happen to me, all I want is one game where the general doesn't die every day
Isaiah Williams
Do you really think slowing the game down is the answer? When they buffed map boss life people just decided to skip them, so I don't know if buffing monster life and slowing progression will help the game survive longer in a league. If you make it harder to get above T6 maps, people will just farm T2 beaches. So, with no VP, no one shots, and less damage overall, what would be exciting about the game? If you can't clear fast the game doesn't need much attention, and if you can't die to one shots you could just get a max block build and watch TV. A game like that sounds like one of those clicking games like Cookie Clicker, nothing exciting and a long ass grind to see experience pile up.
Oliver Hill
...
Bentley Cook
I was looking at the skill tree and saw a skill that makes your max health one, does this proc all items who have abilities on low health ?
Asher Williams
That was what PoE was in the past and nobody complained. Youre probably just new and used to this speedshitter meta. You dont have to bloat your game and add tons of powercreep to make it exciting. And to the skipping bosses part, I havent seen a single person skip bosses. Your build must be real fucking bad if you have to skip bosses and if youre shit at the game you should have no say in the direction it should be going.
Josiah Cooper
>how do we fix poe? >with powercreep and removing mechanics of course!
retart
Colton Wood
>having 6 gorillion "more" multipliers is having mechanics and I advocated for the removal of power creep in my post, not for the further introduction of it I dont know what youre talking about
Ryan Lopez
>Boses are now trash mobs??? wtf this guy had a whole lore thing behind him
John Lee
I was wondering, is this game playable with a gamepad on pc too?
Isaac Bailey
>playing a league in which all you do is autistically grind virtual currency for meme reddit items then die and do the same thing all over again ???
Christopher Williams
why wouldnt it be?
Hunter Barnes
also >reduce drop rates of every non-unique item considerably >reduce chances of low tier bases dropping on higher level zones >reduce chances of low tier affixes rolling as iLvl increases >increase boss IIQ/IIR
Kayden Miller
The amount of people grinding for HH or wander shitter items on hardcore is much smaller percentage-wise than on softcore great ideas user
Dylan Bennett
'cuz diablo 3 isn't :^)
Adam Morgan
>That was what PoE was in the past and nobody complained. You're right, I sure all those 5 people + Kripp thought the game was great at that time >Youre probably just new and used to this speedshitter meta. Yeah, the game is stupid focused on speed right now, but what I'm trying to say is just artificially extending the end game grind probably won't sit well with a majority of players, who unfortunately probably contribute more to GGG's bottom line then your contributions ever will. >You dont have to bloat your game and add tons of powercreep to make it exciting. Agreed, but the way to fix is more than just saying "Game was too fast, now we are just going to make the game slower without changing much, hope you guys still enjoy" >And to the skipping bosses part, I haven't seen a single person skip bosses. This one, I don't know how to respond. Like, there's been tons of people who have been skipping bosses. Take Tarke Cat who is a HC streamer, he skips bosses. I don't know how to respond to this one. >Your build must be real fucking bad if you have to skip bosses and if youre shit at the game you should have no say in the direction it should be going. Dude it's a game that is mostly single player oriented, no one gets a certificate of achievement for playing to level 100 or killing Shaper first regardless of HC or SC. It doesn't matter if you are a casual player that dies 20 times to Kitava before you hit maps. Hell, those people who might be "shit" at the game could be paying GGG more than you ever will.
Brayden Anderson
nope, you're on full health even if its only just "1" health.
Juan Gray
I just feel like we need to have a massive overhaul for PoE. GGG needs to stop killing mechanics and reducing fun builds down to "whatever is the fastest".
but ofcourse they're just ganna keep nerfing shit, because chris wilson wants the shaper, uber atziri and all the other end game chase shit to only be available to those who spent more money and time on this fucking chink gold grind fest shit.
I hope next league is trash so i won't have to deal with this game for a long while.
Ryan Sanchez
Tarke is a known shitter who dies atleast 15 times per league and even he only skips bosses like minotaur which are very dangerous I understand that GGG is a company that lusts after profit above all else but the people who participate in upholding this speedshitter meta are not the people who will keep playing this game for the following years. Theyre the type of people who try out PoE for a league or 2, buy some MTX and leave. If GGG continues down this path then in a year or two they will find themselves stranded with a broken game and fractured playerbase
Joseph Taylor
you can kill shaper on a 50c budget including the cost of the fragments you absolute retard
Henry James
>only have to return 2 >go out of my way to return them all >get nothing extra well ok then
Jace Campbell
you get extra loot per each skeleton
Bentley Young
dead thread dead game
Anthony White
>severely reduce the droprate of maps above t6 and make them as difficult as current t16s
Yeah I'm sure the playerbase miss the good old times of exalting shrine maps.
David Walker
back then high-tier maps were impossible to sustain, hard to get and rewarding enough to do It was good for the game, casuals shouldnt be able to do all content prove me wrong
Luke Reyes
decent.
Eli Reyes
wrong
Parker Turner
ah I see it now
Jeremiah Johnson
reminder
/poeg/ is strictly for elite HC players

Luke Young
well /poeg/ i invested the rest of my money into this retard CI chaos GC build, let's see if it works
Charles Watson
baitposting like does just makes the thread die faster
please stop
Kevin Roberts
I'm 100% serious hc players are simply rolling dice to decide whether or not lag kills them and aside from that there is no other difference bewteen the two modes
Leo Thomas
>whether or not lag kills them *deletes their character
Andrew Hernandez
Oh really? Why did that build interest you?
Grayson Rodriguez
Is there a point exploring maps when doing the campaign?
Jace Davis
you can't
Angel Peterson
>ggg makes the game more casual than D3 >it dies
really grinds my gears
Juan Nelson
oh wow it's almost like this game and every other in the genre is alive not because of their own merits but because D3 was shit
Jose Walker
every game in Veeky Forums is dying because people keep making individual threads for games rather than grouping them so anything that's not top 4 games dies.
Daniel Jackson
GGG tried to capture the hardcore audience in 2012 and 2013 but then slowly strayed from the path, blinded by greed. They started doing shit like casualizing the game, catering to china and consoles etc. The game is a shell of its former self nowadays. worse than D3
Jonathan Phillips
There is absolutely nothing wrong with going fast and killing fast
David Evans
which is why I'm glad I didn't give them a single cent besides the necessary to get a currency tab
Aaron Williams
tfw gave them over 200 bucks I regret everything back to r*ddit with you
Henry Bennett
Back to D3 with you
Michael Lee
fucking disgusting how arrogant newshitter summerfag redditors are ive been playing this game since beyond league and while on paper going fast might sound nice, it devolves into pure retardation once you realise that the game changes from being a game in which you strive to overcome difficult fights to a fucking virtual currency farming simulator so fuck off back to r*ddit you wander shitter
Lincoln Young
>not even playing since beta >calls someone newshitter the state of poeg in 2017
Justin Rivera
>reeeeee they're having fun with their builds instead of plodding in a map for hours
Colton Richardson
If there is a reason to drop PoE is the dogshit performance since 3.0.0 and the almost constant unexpected disconnections.
Julian Howard
Trivializing the game by exploiting overpowered skills and keystones that GGG refuses to nerf and playing a loot casino instead of an ARPG is good for the game ? Do you realize how badly completing everything in a league in a week damages its longevity ? It will fucking kill the game retard
Tyler Jones
Are we even playing the same game now?
Julian Nelson
according to you, the game is casualized, so casuals are the majority of the playerbase casuals obviously aren't able to kill shaper, uber atziri, get level 100 or 36 challenges in a week beause they're, well, casuals therefore, the game stays alive and you turn out to be a retard who contradicts himself on every step
Julian Russell
...
Andrew Price
the problem is that casuals can clear red maps and kill shaper
Chase Miller
uh no they can't, you don't even know what a real casual is if you think that.
Jonathan Nelson
That grap is innacurate because a lot of players got baited into playing the game by GGGs 10 NEW FREE ACTS advertising campaign, the casuals I mean are the new players who can just follow a guide and clear all content ingame, which was not possible before
Jordan Miller
no it's not a problem, it's a goal that's hard enough to achieve for a casual which keeps them playing, unlike the endless grinding of white maps for which you're advocating looks to me like your superiority complex is hurt by the fact that people can achieve the same feats as you without dedicating 10 hours a day to playing a kiwi stock market simulator
Adam Young
What's a good beginner's build for Marauder to learn the game with?
Lucas Jones
Sunder.
Nathaniel Cook
>clear content in 1 week >league dies
it didnt use to be like this and you know that aswell
Justin Cook
How about rangers or shadows?
Evan Green
it literally did why do you think they shortened leagues from 4 months to 3?
William Bell
but the current league is 4 months it took people way more time to do everything back then because the standard for dps was 30k and not 300k
Austin Martinez
ya it did, depending on the league it all really depends on how good the league is, and harbinger was not a good league at all.
Aaron Lewis
What does your Atlas look like user? I need to see some examples of some good atlases
Jace Moore
some things took longer, but that's not the fault of high dps or clearspeed. also don't forget that 4k life was acceptable back then but now it's too little even in softcore leveling to 100 took longer because top tier maps were equivalent level to today's t11s, there were no sextants and you couldn't run one efficient layout over and over completing all challenges took longer because challenges themselves were more time and/or currency consuming than now, like "have all these uniques in your stash"
and speaking of clearspeed, it was mostly limited by the fact that moving fast or using movement abilities desynced the fuck out of you, which you can't possibly argue was a good "feature" of the game
Jose Ward
While I am glad that desync was removed and the endgame overall improved, I believe we have a reached a point at which the endgame will only continue to stagnate unless GGG does something about it. The mindset of most people is go fast and grind up as much currency as possible for shitty meme items like HH because all other chase uniques either got nerfed into oblivion or became legacy. PoE definitely needs an endgame that is not just purely currency driven and instead rewards originality and exploration.
Mason Lewis
I'm at lvl7, 600k EXP. After doing almost every Zana's daily and doing every zana I've saw, with some prophecies dropped. I also have insane luck in this game, so I had wild Zana quite often - and after two and a half months I'm 1 mil away from Zana 8. That's not even absurd, that's straight up idiotic. Zana should get some XP every time you kill a boss in a map - that way you would still grind, but it would at least be bearable. EDIT: many people are suggesting rotations - well, I ask you all, why the fuck is Zana the only thing gated behind rotations? I'm playing this league for almost three months now DAILY and I still didn't unlock the lvl8. I don't want to do rotations simply because I fucking refuse to cave on this one, even if it hinders my gameplay. Maybe when they see how many people have zana 8 and how many people actually dislike being forced to do rotations, they'll realize it's completely idiotic.
Andrew Turner
>playing a shitty filler league for 3 months
youre the fool here, not anyone else
Gavin Foster
guys give me good fun builds

Joshua Morgan
I'm a pretty new player but there's something about totems to me that makes them feel just not as fun as other skills. Am I alone?
Blake Barnes
thats where youre wrong kiddo
Aiden Hill
the most fun way to play is to do a bit of everything so you dont get bored of one playstyle
Eli Johnson

what are some builds that can farm lab efficiently and do maps good as well
