My opinion is that it looks "off" because the sculpt and face design is trying to replicate the anime's character design. The original GSC NG Uzuki scale looks absolutely fantastic, but this looks slightly uncanny by CG standards. Even the preview picture of Rin and Mio don't look promising either.

Based off the stream, the Platinum Star Tours event will have event point gains no matter what you do, whether it's work or playing songs other than the event one.
The event comes with the event song unlocked to play without token restrictions.
There is event point and high score ranking, and point milestone rewards where getting 8000 points will get you a card for example. Which seems to be Tsumugi at this point.
