Their early work was a little too clunky for my taste, but when Demon's Souls came out in '09, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.
The whole game has a well crafted, ingenious level design, and a new dynamic combat system that really gives the encounters a big boost. It's been compared to Dark Souls, but I think Demon's has a far more grim and refined atmosphere.
In '15 From released this; Bloodborne, their most accomplished game. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Ludwig the Accursed", a boss so engaging, most people don't listen to the dialogue. But they should! Because it's not just an extremely relevant and historic character in the lore, it's also a paradigm of the theme of duality between righteous saint and bloodthirsty beast in men! I think the R2 is like the Kirk's dash R1 - the hit comes out a bit before the animation, so it can look funny at the beginning or the end of it.

How does the fire/bolt paper damage work? Does it take the your raw damage and adds a % elemental bonus or does it convert all your raw damage to the kind of paper you use? Also, what is the basic chalices order I need to follow to get to Yharnam? Do I really need to go through the defiled one? I heard absolute horror stories about that place

Adds 80 flat elemental damage. Defiled is ezpz

It's just a flat buff of X damage
No scaling, no conversion
Yes you gotta go through Defiled, pussy

+80 Flat damage, just adds on top of what you already deal so no conversion. Defiled is required yes, the bosses aren't that bad and most of us spend a lot of time in cursed dungeons, Defiled is everyone's first.

Fire and Bolt paper add flat elemental damage to your weapon, and so does empty phantasm shell.
Yes you need to go through the defiled dungeon.
The dungeon itself is super easy and can be rushed, the bosses are hard but manageable.
If you think the defiled dungeon is horrific you should see the dungeons we complete here just for fun.

After ages spent in Dark Souls 3 I am thinking of going back to BB and making another PvP build. How good is the Reiterpallasch? Did you guys ever decide between BL98 and 120? Assuming I go skill/blt with an emphasis on skill, what would be a nice sidearm to the Reiter? Thanks in advance, /bbg/.

I see. When I played there were some at 98 and some at 120. I will decide on that later, since I like hybrid builds and was getting a good amount of duels in Mensis at that level. Is there good activity at 98 too?
