D'eon has an extreme niche that also requires 3rd Ascension to be able to do. Lucky for you her ascension materials are pretty trivial to get and D'eon's NP really shines when its at NP2 plus,

FGO gameplay is far, far above Extra gameplay.
It's not hugely dependent on luck, for starters, nor does it require knowledge of the enemy's attack patterns to even function, meaning your first encounter with any given enemy is a shitshow. This includes bosses.

40 AP has been way better for pumpkins than gorillas though

FGO is mindless for the most part until much much later.
Extra requires you to pay attention and put some effort into your attack sequance.

FGO is only mindless if you're overleveled. And even then, you can play strategically to efficiently kill ASAP. There's also nowhere near as much luck involved.
And sure, Extra does require you to pay attention, but the only way to learn the patterns you're paying attention to is to repeatedly throw yourself at enemies until you learn them. For bosses, this often means constant trial and error.
