Me and my cousin both played this game recently, and when we discussed our thoughts on the game, we came to something interesting. He mainly went for Yuri, while I went for Sayori. After playing we both thought our playthrough was the "most effective".

He said that the game was more emotional since you got to know Yuri, but afterwards you could see how much she changed from her old self as Monika was corrupting her. You could more clearly see her tragic decent into madness.
As for me, I said that since I was so invested in Sayori's well-being and trying to help her, that made her suicide all the more gutwrenching ad a real kickstart for all the fucked up shit to come.

What do you guys think?

I'd say both routes does a really good job of making you feel the same kind of helpless feeling (assuming you started caring for the character who's route you went for, which I did as well. RIP Yuri). They achieve more or less the same thing in different ways.

Going for Sayori makes what happens in the first act all the more impactful, while also making the second more depressing as she's no longer there.

Going for Yuri helps you understand her better and makes her slow descent into madness far more tragic than it might otherwise be, as you know the logical progression of how she got there, instead of her just going yandere on a dime.

Going for Natsuki helps to hammer home just how obsessive Yuri eventually becomes, because you're not even given an 'ending' with her, Yuri forces basically forces yourself on you and the last you see if your waifu is her throwing up before Monika deletes her.

They're all narratively good, even if Natsuki feels a bit irrelevant.

Pretty hot, sharing intimate moments online is always fun, I dunno if I'd do it with a girl I'd be too interested in like Yuri but the fantasy is still sexy.

I feel like Natsuki was a bit of an afterthought by Dan. Literally the last thing you see her do before Act 3 is vomit and run away before being deleted by Monika. Nothing tragic actually happens to her throughout the game, unless you count the verbal abuse of Yuri and the abusive household that I guess is happening.
