We have no idea what happened to Lachesis afterwards, canonically. It's possible she could've done an Brigid somehow, thus why she is gone. A lot of things were planned for FE4, we will just have to wait for a remake. I imagine those memory prisms from Echoes will be perfect for the game.

I don't disagree, but early Heroes had a nasty trend of introducing characters as their starting class. There may be exceptions I'm overlooking, but as far as I know that was true until Amelia. The Echoes situation is just weird though.
