Yes. It is pointless SoL (aka does nothing for the plot) with a occasional fight or two in every film.

Basically every movie after the first just drags it's feet until the last five minutes in where they show one fight.

Third one was kind of okay due to feels imo, but yeah pretty much this.

The best fight in the series was Greymon vs Parrotmon in the original Digimon Movie. The way it's animated has that classic kaiju feel and there's so much thought put into that movie that it really feels like something special. It's also got that classic thing where you think the 'hero' is defeated but he comes back when he hears Hikari's calls. Children's War Game has the second best fight. The callback to the original Greymon vs Parrotmon and Omegamon's evolution and all the kids watching it making it feel like you are part of that evolution. It was amazing. I loved watching it in theatres as a kid.

And then there was ExE Evolution fights in Next Order which are an homage to Children's War Game and so much fun. Especially since you didn't always know what you were going to create. I hope in a sequel they have shittons more crazy fusion ExE evolutions. Grave Novamon, Huanglongmon, Shoutmon X7, etc.

I love Digimon but the budget is usually crap and fights aren't that great. Tri is killing me.

Also shout out to the corrupted Examon fight and all the eater fights because I loved their designs and holy shit Examon was huge. I can't wait to play Hacker's Memory.

General rule of thumb for Veeky Forums is that nothing is as ever as bad or as good as people say. Honestly there are some major issues but there are some really good emotional moments and ideas in these that make it feel worth watching in my opinion.

I think you're best waiting till the final movie is released so you can binge watch them. That should help issues with the pacing since you don't have to wait a horrible amount of time and get disappointed when it feels like nothing has happened again.

With every movie I think I like it less overall, and the last episode it seemed like they ran out of budget.

I'm kind of angry that I spent a lot of money on merchandise but apparently they don't use it to get a good budget for their anime. lol toei.

The characters are good, the problem is the horribly slow pacing and that after the third movie the fight animation became total garbage.

I think is the art style, and the music, and the character design.

The art is too colorful, and the use of CGI is weird considering the use of it (and it was a hit or miss, depending the Appmon).
The music is mediocre at best, and the lack of an insert song is a sin for being a Digimon series.
The characters' design is just bad. Even in-universe they mock Haru for his sense of fashion, not like Eri's and Astra's is any better, and Watson being the worst offender. I only liked Rei's, Yuujin's and Ai's.

Leader skill, luck, and legacy skill of the base gets passed on whenever you research.

Whelp first thing you have to learn is that Digimon is dead in the West and isn't that alive in Japan, so it might be hard to get shit.
It took weeks after Appmon first aired that it got a sub group.

To be fair, most of the mons they defeated before were either controlled (by dark ring/spiral) or "fake" (made by Dark Tower). So later they had doubt when they had to kill real Digimon.
