The game has a lot of weird stuff going on. Steven even appears along side the new girl a couple of times. Only the original Lucifer's design made an appearance in the story, the IVA's design was a fusion only. My guess is that their going with parallel universe shenanigans.

It has nothing to do with different personas or anything like that. It's just a different Lucifer from a different reality, the same way IVA's Lucifer is not the same person as IV's. Nocturne's Lucifer isn't the same Lucifer as 1-2's either.

Alternate realities, user. In IV Lucifer always seemed weakened or just weaker, and he even mentions being damaged and needing to return to his true (which IS the Ayy and bug form IV gave him). IV/IVA's Lucifer is about equal to Merkebah but Noctune's Lucifer could take Metatron, who is above Merk.

It won't be universal, it will only work for SJ, since each game has different compression, so while I can share it sure, it will be useless for anything but 3DS SJ.

we might get all the severe spells back, everything from akasha arts to jihad (or I guess they'll call it antichton now) I doubt it'll be anything more than that. I do kind of hope they add in all-targetting severe spells a la thunder reign for the other elements, though.

as for skill inheritance, it seems like you can pick and choose skills, not sure what the drawback is yet or if there is one
