fuck this

Bunnies are for ________

Stop

>want to retire party at 4th stratum to make sure they're still competitive
>spend three days deliberating over comps and failing to like anything new I try

Guess I'm never finishing this game

Jenetta is just hiding all your eggs in front of her chest.

breeding

Forced impregnation

Cuddling.

lewding

Someone actually fixed her. Nice

>canonical
Wrong, her ass isn't flat.

Yeah, they fucked up

"safe" in the widest sense.
Sure, there is a dangerous monster here but it is neither just moments from breaking out nor getting released by someone or anything along those lines.

It is a looming threat, not an immenant one. So in the end you are just killing a dangerous monster because you like killing dangerous monsters not because anything is on the line.

I want to retire my party and make way for a new generation now that I beat the 5th stratum, but I'm too attached to my party members now that I'd miss them if I replaced them all

How gay is it to retire someone and replace them with a perfect clone of them

That's what you're supposed to do when retiring. Maybe changing their colors to reflect the new powers or something. Never replacing them with new people.

Genderbend them and it will not be gay at all

I thought it was an MMO and you would have to beat the Admin before they restard the despot event

It's what nearly everyone does.
They are not retiring, just taking a short break to train themselves shounen time-skip style.

>not wanting to save the world

It's such a common use case I'm surprised the character creator doesn't default to the colors the character you retired had.

I don't know, I actually kinda like the idea of a whole new generation of adventurers picking up where the guild veteran left off, with the same classes but totally different looks and voices and names and everything

Decided I'll just save my game in two slots before I retire everyone, so I still have a file with the original members and old portraits if I get nostalgic

I guess that's the idea of retiring. But EO do a poor job to reflect that. I mean, no one is older in the game, so there isn't a new generation to replace the old one.

I

You can retire at an early age in reality as well.

deathbringer or deathguard?

>put on blaze prayer so combustion won't deal as much damage
>bloodwrath decides to proc every single fucking turn from then on

I used to love blood wrath until it started screwing things up more than it actually resulted in helpful damage

Spoilers:

Assuming you're talking about the fifth stratum boss and not the sixth stratum boss (which I haven't killed yet, no spoilers*), yeah, I thought it was pretty shoehorned. The fact that it was only foreshadowed on 24F and then you had an exposition dump literally in front of the door of the boss' room was pretty pathetic, not to mention that the exposition dump itself was a clusterfuck. It strikes me as poorly translated. Why does Arken refer to us as "human"?
We're clearly not human, and it's possible to have a party reach 25F without even having an Earthlain. How is the boss even going to escape its restraints? Why is it a dragon looking motherfucker?
Why does there even need to BE a "primordial darkness"? At least in previous EO games there was some reasonable explanation. It leaves a really sour taste in my mouth since EOV was otherwise such a good game.

deathbringer

Deathguard pretty much serves exclusively as support, just a debuffbot

Deathbringer has access to a lot of ailments, is good at applying them, and can actually do a lot of damage after you get some skill points in it, lv 10 Black Blade + Frigid Reap hits like a train

Did those boxes around the text options overflow on the right in the original Japanese version too? It doesn't look right.

I am talking about the 6th stratum boss, yeah.

the exposition dump outside of the 5th was stupid too but the jump they then make is enormous and comes right the fuck out of nowhere (the whole 'human' thing is kind of explained later)

I'm assuming she is just lying and it's simply a random big monster lying in her way leading to her home.
It's funnier this way and salads can not be trusted anyways.

Questions about some pugilist skills: Can the pugilist cast Overexertion on itself? And also how does One two punch work? 1 2 punch itself does damage, then theres x% chance for each of the binding skills to happen or is it just one random one? Also if a binding skill procs is it free as far as tp cost?

>Miasma armor gives a hefty speed boost
>all your attacks have massive speed penalties anyway
What the fuck were they thinking when they made Harbinger and why am I so insistent on using this piece of shit? Can't even make it into a Necro because shit TP pool and even worse healing

i kinda wish, that instead of it being a save the world thing, it was supposed to be a trial that the arken had to defeat to go to a new world,
kinda like how they portray strat6. could have made it so that the rest of the arken died but this one survived and needed ur help to do the trial and get it to the next planet it can help make prosper

humans could also mean demi humans i guess

Tips for tyrant? I thought it was weak to sleep, but no procs yet after many hits.
Chain bind has also been pretty unreliable this fight. I'd rather use Aegis shield to be honest.

>Leg bind wears off on the turn I'm going to kill Primordiphant.

Miasma Armor's speed boost is more than enough to compensate for their speed penalties, it's fine.

Well, I got a flashcart and a fridge magnet. Time to brick my 3DS.

Retiring my party and replacing them with the same classes as before, running 1kat/cannon drag/deathbringer/warlock/healer botanist and I can't decide if I should keep my warlock an omnimancer or try elemancer, just finished the 5th stratum and my warlock's damage fell off hard, so hard she's the designated item user now because the 1kat, dragoon, and harbinger can all do way more damage

Will Spread Chant Rockfall cheese be enough to make Omnimancer worth it for the upcoming 6th stratum, or should I go Elemancer for consistent damage with Clever Strike? I don't really need the physical element spells, my front line can hit all three of those as needed

>Sixth stratum continues to be stupid
A-at least it's fun to explore, r-right? ;_;

>You will never toss a space salad

Quick second name question:

How big of a deal is it that my Cannon Drag is Earthlain? I predicted making him tank, but I changed my mind. I'm still gonna use him to mitigate some damage, but how big is the damage difference from not having made him a Therian?

The rest of my party is chain based, so I have damage. The way I see it, I could use a mastery to get a lv 20 Therian, but like, it might not even be all that serious.

Does anyone have the flufflock thinking image
Yes
That's right, you get an initial hit and x chance for each of the 3 bind skills, rolled individually and don't cost TP

Stock up on Laudanum and All Mist before the fight, throw out the former when it uses the roar attack buff and the latter either as soon as miasma appears or when it sucks it all in

Laudanum removes its attack buff while leaving yours, and All Mist raises your fire resistance so high that burning miasma just tickles a little

I found this to be the most consistent way to survive burning miasma in case a head bind or sleep wouldn't proc

Okay, I got no idea how to get to floor 28 in EO5. Any advice on 27F? I know the blue teleporters depend on which direction you enter them from, but I don't get the orange and green ones.

>Warlock is dealing less damage than support 1Kat / Deathbringer
What the actual fuck are you doing?
Warlock's problem is that they consume too much mana, not that they don't do enough damage. You don't have any way to reliably proc Shared Magic so Elemancer won't play to its full potential, but Elemancer does absolutely hit like a truck if you're tossing around maxed out elemental nukes.

Only at max after you're 15 skill points in the shitter, and you still have to recast it every 4 turns to do almost anything as a class
And the point stands: why not just make Miasma give a much smaller boost while all skills have no speed modifier?
The entire class is ridiculously short sighted and its sole redeeming factor is that Wilting debuff

lmao

seriously though it is probably my 2nd favorite bonus stratum outside of the plot, it's actually pretty cool

it's not really that big of a difference. cannon drag still does like the extra vit. just toss a coin if you really can't decide

I don't know man, I've been keeping her staves up to date, and a maxed out Lightning with lv 9 Amplifier up and lv 5 Reserve Magic was doing like 600 damage to enemies weak to lightning, meanwhile 1kat's Helm Splitter hits for 1000-2500 and isn't even maxed, and Deathbringer's Frigid Reap does like 3000 damage a turn with Black Blade active, plus almost a thousand poison damage a turn from Toxic Reap

My Omnimancer fucking never runs out of TP, she had like almost 400, I was always way more concerned with the DB burning through it all than her, she was always the last person that needed an amrita

Absolutely incomparable. Earthlain cap at 149 STR, Therian cap at 184. That means that at the absolute pinnacle of power, 99r99, an Earthlain will deal approximately 10%, probably less lower damage than a Therian.

The tradeoff is that Earthlain are only about 33% tankier.

Amplifier affects buster cannon and elemental chains, right?

indeed

All teleporters work the same, all that's different is how many squares they send you in the direction you enter from. The number is the same for each color. Blue is 5, orange is 10,
green is 20 and purple is 30

>Deathbringer
Oooooh, I miss read. Deathbringers do actually hit pretty hard.

Are you weaving elements together correctly? Like, if you work in physical elements to your spells your Omnimancer will take full advantage of the attack buffs and defense debuffs that you're applying, otherwise Armour Pierce and High Ground by themselves will put your physical damage dealers ahead.

My team has a divine punisher and a hound supporting it. Still okay, but I think the tanky-ness will come in handy.

Thanks for the rough percentages, that really helped.

Because otherwise there wouldn't be an incentive to level up miasma armor at all, since it stays at the same duration for all levels and doesn't actually do anything beyond triggering secondary effects. Sure, they could have balanced it differently, but so could a lot of other things. It's your fuckin stance class.

If you're a debuff spammer harb it shits out extra duration left and right, but they don't really want that as much as deathbringer. So that definitely could have been fine tuned.

Yeah I usually alternated between one of the physical spells and an elemental one, but the damage was still not amazing, best part of it was that it was steady consistent damage every turn instead of buffing up for big nukes, but for that I feel like Elemancer would still be better

Think I'll try it and if I really miss Omnimancer I'll just go rest

Yeah i think the vit will be good. Gunmount plus Line/Mana guard is still sick, even behind pillboxes.

Thanks for the input.

I was being facetious. Unless your Cannon Drag is going to be a Buster Cannon and ONLY a Buster Cannon, there's little reason to use a Therian over an Earthlain.

Also, if a teleporter's landing spot send you beyond the boundaries of the map, you end up the the next/previous floor. It's as though each floor is conected to each other horizontally, on the same plane, instead of one being above the other

elemancer wouldn't be any beter without int support
armor pierce alone compensates for common magic

Yayayaya I got your sarcasm when you said "incomparable" and then listed small numbers.

I'm sticking to Earthlain for sure. Ty again.

Well I've got claw sever to deal with its buffs while keeping mine. Reblossom also means that it lasts twice as long.
What's been getting me are those big lighting roars.
I guess some consumable would help with that as well.

Thanks for the info.

>Boss theme hits 3:48 exactly as Eternal Tyrant shits out miasma for the first time.

I could take or leave the exploration for most of the game, but the sixth stratum has one of the best executed mechanics of the EO games I've played. Looks fucking gorgeous, too.

All Mist lasts for 5 turns and boosts all elemental resistances, it's actually good in general for that entire fight

High damage rapid cannon and barrage wall are nice too

I forget, is retiring a one-time thing, or does retiring the second generation then give further bonuses to the next one?

I'm pretty sure it's a one time thing, unless V changed things.

Well that's good to hear. I've got enough for 30 turns apparently, so I guess it's all up to my skill and some RNG.

Thanks again.

Only your most recent retire is taken into account.

Does superboss have any really special gimmick or it's basically amalgolem strikes back?

Does fencer have any use at all?

His parts are in different rows.
So you're kind of fighting a party of monsters.

Being fun and doing many big damage.

Yes.
Chain Fencer is one of four solo damage cores in EOV.
Dodge Fencer is a high roll hybrid damage dealer / evasion tank, though not a tank in the formal sense. They're susceptible to bad RNG, e.g. I was recently hit by a blinded Boar through three part Lightweight, but when they excel they excel to an absurd degree.

Hey guys I'm laying through 4, I'm finishing up the second area but most of the FoEs still give me a bit of trouble. Should I just say fuck it and grind to lvl 40?

chain fencer is really strong

Does the placement of your party members affect damage if you're attacking the front enemy row?

Debating whether or not to put my squishy warlock up front if I can get bigger spell damage.

No, just avoid foes like you're supposed to do

Warlock skills, unless you're using strike with a staff(which you shouldn't) is ranged and therefore row independent
Most enemy physical skills are melee and therefore row dependent and your squishy warlock will take twice as much damage

>chain fencer
>solo damage
Nice meme m8. Chain fencer is great damage but it's entirely party dependent, alone it does absolutely nothing.

No, just beat the stratum to unlock the next class. Each unlock class makes the game significantly easier.

Only if you're using melee attacks. The only warlock spell that's melee range is Clever Strike.

>Should I just say fuck it and grind to lvl 40?
No, you'll suck the fun out of the game.

If FoEs are giving you trouble, your options are to either play as intended and avoid them entirely, or retool your team into something that can handle FoEs. The secret to killing FoEs is lockdown (status, binds) and burst damage.

I already have a bind character and a status inflicting character
I'm wondering if any of these new classes will be better then anyone on my current team

>Nice meme m8. Chain fencer is great damage but it's entirely party dependent, alone it does absolutely nothing.
I mean a solo damage core in the sense that if your other four party members deal little damage by themselves, a Chain Fencer will deal enough damage by itself to carry the rest of the party. Chain Killer can deal 3,200% damage a turn before taking buffs or Chain Double into account.

How long will it take for them to announce the next game

arcanists are great and bushi is the best subclass

Bushi is strongest as a subclass, Arcanist outclasses Medic.

Also, clever strike is ranged if your warlock has a gun equipped.

I'm so glad I put so much time and love into my existing guys

2 years for japan

>buy Hero Orb, slap it on Rover
>sleep at inn
>summon pet in dungeon and replace Hero Orb with gloves again
>equip Hero Orb again whenever going back to the inn
Feels good summoning my L10 doggo for effectively 15 TP.

atlus finally figuring out that unlockable classes suck is the best argument for newer EO games

Unlockable classes or not they should've had more classes in 5.
