How does Obsidian shit out a game this good in just 10 months?

They had a lot of help from Bethesda, all they did was improve upon what systems were there and attach a world to them, if they had tried to start from scratch then we'd have nothing.
Jayden Gomez
I recall a lot of people complained back when they blocked links to some porn sites like Hentai Foundry Made me laugh
anyways, just remove.com or .org or w/e from the link and it will post

pre-existing engine, loads of pre-made assets to use, pre-made game framework, etc
new vegas is basically fo3.5 from a technical perspective
Brandon James
For what game.
Connor Ramirez
oh shit she's actually Polish, that's some high quality PAWG right there
Ooops my bad, FO4. But also mildly curious about NV cause I love that game.
Angel Brooks
>steam keeps trying to make me buy fallout 3 but i've owned the goty edition for years
Josiah Ross
If you're asking because you are thinking about spending money on them, just buy the SP or pirate everything. Everything else is a terrible idea.
Xavier Rogers
What else could you ask for to save the white race?
Sebastian Hughes
>F4 -FAH HABAH is better than the base game. -Automatron is also worth it at the low price. -Nuka World is kinda shit and you have to be a play as a raider to get the most enjoyment out of it. -The settlement stuff doesn't appeal to me so I never bothered with it.
>NV -Each DLC has it's ups and down but they're all worth it. -GRA is worth it -I don't even know if you can buy the pre-order packs, but why would you even want them.
In my opinion.

Best thing ive come up with is crippling one wing and shooting the fuck out of the twitching bastard before he death-stings me.
Nathaniel Perez
>-I don't even know if you can buy the pre-order packs, but why would you even want them. They are part of the Courior's stash DLC iirc
Jackson Parker
Made me realize I don't have much in the way of butt shots.
The reason I preferred Nuka World of all DLCs is mainly because of exploration. That place is just too fun to explore. Lore-wise Far Harbor is superior, also fun to explore but not nearly as much variety of places to explore as Nuka World. Automatron is good, I really liked the lore behind robobrains and the robotic workbench.
NV I personally enjoyed all NV DLCs equally, but if I had to choose I'd probably go with this >Dead Money > Old World Blues > Lonesome Road > Honest Hearts > Courier's Stash/Gun Runner's Arsenal
Dead Money is fun, has amazing lore and is ridiculously difficult to complete. If you like the challenge and lore this is a must have DLC. Old World Blues has FANTASTIC lore and a great place to explore, but I think it's more designed for science characters. Lonesome Road is the epilogue, great place to explore and an odd but interesting lore. Honest Hearts has a decent lore and the best place to explore in NV imho.

Fallout moba when? Fallout fighting game when? Fallout card game when? Fallout survival horror game when? Fallout mmo when? Fallout rpg when?
Luke Turner
caitfag this is why we worry when you say you're a mental health professional
Carter Sanders
Never. To all of that except the card game. Probably what they've got that newly acquired moba studio doing.
Sebastian Powell
Bethesda can't even get the main game right, let alone decent spinoffs.
Josiah Reyes
aside from the last one fucking never
as for the last one, 7 years ago

So...
I know it's way to early to begin speculating, but what are you all hoping for in the next installment?
Engine wise, I'd like them to get something that can hold bigger and more detailed cells without loading screens. It'd be nice to load once to enter a town and then be able to explore all the buildings/shops without having a ton of load screens separating everything. It'd also be neat to be able to have larger, more complex dungeons.
Gameplay wise, I'd prefer if they went back to the skill system. The perks felt really unbalanced and killed your ability to customize your character. I'd also like to see more importance for the SPECIAL stats.
Ethan Moore
[Spoiler]never[\spoiler]
Wyatt Diaz
>Location? Ronto or Broken Banks >Engine Changes? Making shadow rendering GPU based >Gameplay Tweaks/Overhauls? Adding Sim Settlement style prefabs to the settlement system.... and, DESU, that's really the only innovate mod for Fallout since modders are lazy shits. Maybe useable motorcycles.
Benjamin Morris
>It'd be nice to load once to enter a town and then be able to explore all the buildings/shops without having a ton of load screens separating everything kek
consoles will hold shit like that back forever
Dominic Robinson
>The perks felt really unbalanced and killed your ability to customize your character. It's the same thing. They just changed it from skills mattering every 25 points to selecting a higher tier perk.
Samuel Taylor
only one of those might be good
Tyler Parker
>'d prefer if they went back to the skill system. The perks felt really unbalanced and killed your ability to customize your character. objectively untrue
Luke Stewart
Even if consoles didn't exist Bethesda would never do it simply for basic optimization purposes.
Robert Hernandez
Fallout arena fps when?
Forest. We have yet to have a fallout game where dense and tall trees are the backdrop, so someplace where redwoods survived or something. You could have tree villages like the Ewoks be a theme, and the ground level is overrun by dogs or something. Or simpler, just like the other games but with a forest section.
Vaulting walls and windows. An animation that lasts a couple seconds and lets you go through things you could clearly go through, like a fallen sideways door or a completely broken window, which in the previous games have been impassable.
More rpg stuff. Make character creation be more like a tabletop rpg.
I was joking about many of them but a fallout horror game would be great. You're in a vault that lost power, and you can hear ghouls coming in the vault entrance. Maybe even some people in the vault became ghouls or went crazy and you have to get out.
I just like card games so the card game sounds fun too.
Carson Stewart
>location swomp/snow deserts and forests are boring
Jayden Miller
Get Automatron first
Benjamin Walker
>FO4 >kill enemy >suddenly 3fps >game shits itself to the point I need to shut it own
Thanks again, Bethesda.

>a fallout horror game would be great and thats the only one I was thinking would be good if done right.

Good news! I did all the quests and now he has two more bars of health!

>Each DLC has it's ups and down but they're all worth it. Except dead money. Only DLC in the history of Fallout to have a mod that allows you to skip it. >-I don't even know if you can buy the pre-order packs, but why would you even want them. Because various mods require them. I'd play without them if I could.
Oliver Diaz
Update on the WIP outfit I posted in the last thread. All the rigging is done, now I just need to add bone weights, set up a plugin and pray to Todd that it will just workâ˘. If all goes well I'll share it here when I'm done and then get started on the next one.
Tyler Martin
>Except dead money. Only DLC in the history of Fallout to have a mod that allows you to skip it. Story?
Logan Perez
Brainlet nobs who can't into Dead Money.
Jacob Fisher
Just fuck his shit up
Nathaniel Walker
It's actually hard in quite a different way than the basegame/other dlc's. I think it's better actually and what I think fallout should be in general.
Grayson Brown
>Except dead money. Only DLC in the history of Fallout to have a mod that allows you to skip it. You can skip 99% of HH very easily by accidentally shooting the wrong guy..
Liam Powell
I have one too, entirely hand-drawn
Parker Hernandez
wheres the template
Jonathan Torres
Right but no one made a mod for you to skip it and reap the rewards, because HH isn't bad like DM
Hunter Perez

Dominic Barnes
>why is this game so easy reeeee >chris avellone:'hold my weed' >dead money >reeee why is this game so hard
Jackson Martin
The fact that it's official content to skip it means that modders didn't need to.
Also outside of the tiny sideplot of the ranger dude, HH was dogshit.
Charles Ortiz
I loved the jacket.
Owen Jackson
Very nice.
Jace Mitchell
I fell in love with it when I first saw it after someone ripped it and all the other clothing items from DayZ and posted them as a modder's resource. I kept waiting and hoping that someone would rig an outfit with it, but eventually I realized if I wanted it I was going to have to learn how to do it myself.
I'm not really sure what I'm going to make next since I made this one specifically because of how badly I wanted it. All the outfits after this point are basically going to be things that I think other people will like.
Ryan Ward
Any Fallout 4 overhaul making the game more interesting yet?
Benjamin Brooks
Oh good I was hoping this was the case
Jose Rivera
>game uses one of my super-stimpacks on him Fucker. But this should be enough.
Adam Clark
...
Levi Long
It's better to learn that yourself cause you can do so much more. And it gets pretty casual when you learn to port stuff, rigging the bones is the most difficult part. Do you have the link for the assets from DayZ?
>I'm not really sure what I'm going to make next Most of the assets I use were taken from this gallery: luxox18.deviantart.com/gallery/
But I've been porting KF2 stuff as well with SDK. If you're minimally experienced with 3D modeling you can create a variety of interesting mashups.
Cameron Bell
Holy shit, just quickly scrolling through that gallery I've already seen several models that I would be very interested in rigging. Huge thanks for sharing that.
Unfortunately they only include the default diffuse textures, none of the alternate diffuse textures and no speculars or normals. Still a lot of good stuff that fits well in Fallout 3/NV/4 though.
>The DayZ assets are here: Thanks! I rarely ever check GUN for resources, but I know the website.

Vanilla New Vegas for life GOTYAY
Tyler Cook
And put it on what genius? The water?
Lincoln Barnes
you gotta have SOME mods, especially bug fixes.
Jaxson Russell
Stability and bug fixes goes without saying. Gameplay, balance and non-texture visuals purely vanilla but I could live without textures honestly.
Owen Allen
>all these people with revealing armor/clothing for their waifu Don't you care about their safety?
Jeremiah Gutierrez
>try overgrowth ENB >too bright and it breaks night vision >try melancholy >too dark and it still breaks night vision
Jaxson Murphy
Can someone please explain why the fuck the textures for drags armor pack is spazzing when you boot it up? Do I need install all the textures manually?
Jayden Cook
>location I'm not picky, I'm not American, either. >engine changes Just, like, make it more stable or something. >gameplay changes Skill system. Also attempt to cure the Bethesda Melee Syndrome. I want melee weapons to actually feel like they pack oomph and especially unarmed to be both fun and viable. It can be gimmicky, but I want to catch some asshole's pool queue with my bare hands, ram him in the chest with it, then disarm him and beat his head in while he's staggered.
I also want good writing, stricter adherence to established canon, decent voice acting and intelligent deathclaws because fuck you that fallout 2 ending was bugged.
Robert Russell
>not nearing a power helmet with the fedora on top How can you even say you love her?
Wyatt Lee
>muh lore
Jaxon Perry
I mean, this is probably bait, but what's wrong with that?
Dominic Ortiz
So I think its been time enough. What are the must have mods?
Colton Bailey
>fo5 >broken banks >brotherhood of steel arrives in a space ship and clad in full t-75 armor, which looks like a bigger t-60, after you kill the person who stole your consciousness and trapped you in a fen 2.5 synth body >they built a space ship but are incapable of making power armor
Nolan Kelly
NOT CANNON
Dylan Lee
I mean, minor transgressions are no problem, everybody fucks up. The only two things that really piss me off are low battery life on power armour and pre-war Jet.
Bentley Wright
>batteries and jet >not an entire pa set thats nonexistant existig mere days before the war modeled after an obsolete version and another being in a prewar theme park
Nathaniel Wilson
>super muties on the east coast >bos on the east coast >enclave on the east coast >cabot house quest >kid in the fridge and its consequences for lore
Fuck pre war jet, this is small potatoes compared to what i just listed.
Joshua Sullivan
>super muties on the east coast >bos on the east coast >enclave on the east coast >cabot house quest "It's evil and wrong because it wasn't established in previous games!" Is what you just said.
You're the same kind of person who thinks that 3's story makes no sense.
Mason Adams
>migrants or a new strain created by various means / groups >migrants >don't really see anything wrong with it, it's pretty fallouty >actually pretty awful and an example of Fo4's incredibly crapass quest design this time around
Easton Gonzalez
>Location? I don't know. Surprise me. >Engine Changes? Fix Godrays >Gameplay Tweaks/Overhauls? As I think about it I'm just removing more things than adding. Legendary system, settlement crap, Creation Club, those are all things that could go and I wouldn't feel like Fallout is losing anything important or groundbreaking.
Bring back ammunition types. Go back to an arsenal instead of jack-of-all-trades guns, or give more mods to support forgotten weapon types. Hire someone who knows how a gun works.
Big game-changer would be the ability - maybe even a perk) to support dual-wielding. I've wanted that ever since I saw Fast Shot.
