>to as many targets in range i'm sure those 3 heavies are going to let you waltz right in the middle of them. Scouts are going to backpedal and easily outrange you. Spies' movement is irrelevant anyway, as they can't attack while invisible, and are on fire anyway so you don't need to predict where they are going to be like an engi with a shotgun for example. Even if they fixed this, spies are going to have an equally shit day, since even if a single particle hit for like 2 damage, they are set on fire anyway so the cover is blown.
I agree it's a problem, but it's a very minor thing that requires you to get in effective range of your flamethrower with multiple enemies without dying where they wouldn't be hit if the particles were accurate, and do a thing that is pretty disorientating on top of that, it's not like it makes you harder to hit anyway.
On top of that, since you aren't walking straight when doing this, you also take more time to catch up to people
