im poor as piss, i use a tiny mousepad designed for carpal tunnel, no more than 6x8 inches of mouse room with a lump for the wrist. i also use a shitty ricer mouse that keeps changing it's dpi settings midgame, i found it in our laundry room and its at least 10 years old pic related, servicable sensor but nothing i would recommend. cheap 80 dollar 60hz monitor, 10 year old setup in general. i can compete on tf2center/pugchamp at least, not saying im very good but i am getting better, and pubstomp consistently. a good thing about team fortress 2 is while aim is important most skill comes from positioning and gamesense, i am convinced someone like b4nny would pubstomp with an xbox 360 controller and probably somehow manage to play pugchamp with his steam controller and win. this all isn't to say having a 144hz monitor and a g400 mouse wont give you an advantage but that it isn't nearly as important as you probably think it is
