Does anyone else here kind of wish they were Jake Solomon? I've been looking at his Twitter and he's so well adjusted. He's in good shape, he has a hot wife and 2 cute kids, and his games are very well regarded. And he's genuinely nice too, he's bros with Julian Gollop and supports Phoenix Point. I wish I had that nice of a life ;_;

What kind of equip sets do you guys recommend? I'm experimenting a bit right now:

Ranger: WAR suit, Shredstorm cannon, shotgun with aim scope (fucking hate missing)

Grenadier: WAR suit, Blaster cannon, aim scope

Specialist: Warden, aim scope, medkit

Sharpshooter: Wraith suit, aim scope

How the heck are you missing with a Ranger. You should be shooting the aliens right in the face.

i get antsy about charging right into the middle of a pod with my ranger, and then they pull out of range of my shotty

This is why you get Untouchable and Relentless. Run into point-blank range, kill someone, then move back to high cover and enjoy the first incoming shot auto-missing anyway. Alternatively, use a Bondmate or Psiop with Inspire to give them an extra action they can use to retreat safely.

Hell, in a pinch you can sling Aid Protocol on them from a specialist.

Ranger gets Spider/Wraith suit and a Shotgun with Laser Sight

everything else I agree with though

In my opinion, the thing that makes the Ranger deadly is Bladestorm. Run and Gun into melee range, point-blank Shotgun shot, and when they take their turn you get to Bladestorm for a free attack.

RAGE suit looks okay once you apply some more muted colours. The Icarus armour would be cool as well if it wasn't for the dorky little wings.

I don't mind the little wings, they're kind of cute. RAGE suit I find too much though, it's the damned toesocks that are too much for me.

With certain costume mods, my limbs are constantly missing when new soldiers are generated, particularly later on in the list of limbs like Arms 8 and 9. What causes this?

Can't live without. Excellent for standard customization, and the it's like another cosmetic pack to accompany lewd mods for a skimpy tactical gear look.

If that's the case you're better off just ignoring the mission. Better to successfully counter something that's less of a threat, than fail to counter the most dangerous Dark Event and get hit with all three.

this sounds likely, i've noticed that particle effects from weapons and stuff don't seem to render at all in the photo booth

Anybody ever sent a purifier launching?

Just happened to me for the first time. Got lucky with some reaction fire when a pod patrolled right into my dudes while I was still setting up. Hit the purifier and he just shot straight up in the sky, and pretty far too.

I took a screenshot of his flight but when I try to paste it in GIMP or paint it's just a blank black screen :(

I think you have to press F12 to take shots on Steam.
