reminder that if your witch is flat it's not a real witch.

Damn

man I love witches

I want to unironically create an engine that competes with unity and UE.

Where do i get funding?

Become a contributor to Godot

this

Why not help Godot,
also, there are so many engines,
But you mean more something like a dev tool

spooky css

>wanted to post progress
>skelingtons everywhere
welp, nvm.

>being a witch
>having big boobs
>even needing to wear clothes at all

No i want do it from nothing and make my own API design decisions.

No. An engine. It'd just be C++ code. Nothing else. The tools would just autogenerate the code itself.
You'd open/create projects within the editor itself which would be a glorified IDE.
You could choose to either use the editor, or just the engine itself.
Or both. You could export the code from the editor and compile it yourself.

But I like flat witches

can't wait!

Ah. Yes, finally, another man of taste.

>spend $100 for godot patreon to reach its part time dev goal
>they hire you as dev paying $1.5k
>$1.4k for free

Make a SS13 clone in 3D

I would like to do the models but I don't want to script that.

You can make an engine, but you will not create one that competes with Unity or Unreal.

Things are getting close to being done for demo day.

guys this is weird but I think my game is trying to

why even make an engine
why enginedevs
don't waste your time
just shitpost in the thread instead

Him making an engine is better than your non-game posts.

unreal engine is actually a fork of early godot 3 what the fuck?

Worked on a map and generation for the last few days. It can be more optimized, like not having all those vertices in large areas, but oh well. I'll still need to work on regions/biomes, but that feels kinda irrelevant for now.
> tfw keep putting off working on an inventory

Looking good

Infinite detail

yo this is pretty cool

>his tree distribution isn't Poisson

I will Poisson up yours.

Yeah, my distribution really needs something better than simple noise.

why are you guys talking about me ?

Looking good user. I like your Stay Puft Hammer baddies

I might start working on a 1 to 1 scale life sim

Why are you pretending to be me?

Hnngh, very interesting art style.
Source? Google finds nothing.

reminder to always make it thicker no matter what

>$1.4k for free
it's clearly $1.5k for $100

do video games have the capacity to not be shit?

My goal with this guy is to make him easily killed when alone, but menacing when in groups, specially if you are cough unaware. Still don't know if I should make him go though slopes, navigation is a bitch and I don't want him to be stuck on corners.

>THIGHS
my nigga

woah...

Its from my Beat em up project. No google because its concept art.

>thighs larger than her shoulders

What the hell, I ws thinking of trying to make a simple endless runner, looked up some guides and shit, and everyone seems to make the character move right, instead of staying in place and making the platforms move left.
Is there some secret wizard logic to this?

>Cuphead uses Unity
Holy shit nice

>Escape from Tarkov uses Unity

Okay what. Thats legit one of the best looking games right now

Maybe the engine isnt that bad

i dont fucking care

I was surprised that Layers of Fear uses Unity

reminder Crysis uses GMS

problem?

Ori also uses unity, i think it's technically a more impressive 2d game than cuphead.

Of course cuphead is more impressive in the sense that a lot of manual labor went into the art because they used non-digital art for the most part.

Have you ever thought of... just making a game?

is there anything cozier than blanketing up and mirin progress on a wintry day?

bad point, poorly made

It's disgusting but... it's real, so...

What do you guys think of gogem?

i usually like muscular girls but that looks like shit

daily reminder that all biggest games of past decade used godot 3 and the engine is always improving

a waste of space
a waste of skin

He's a nodev and a shitposter.

Who?

Name 5 games

How do i achieve the Ultimate Spider Man for PS2 look using substance painter?

The only scary thing with your game is the graphics

>falling for the 'Unity is bad' meme
because decent developers knows what they are doing

where's your game

Ever heard of Minecraft?

Move it right and move the view with it..?
What are you asking

people think unity is bad because you have to pay to remove the splash screen, so anything with a budget isn't going to be instantly labelled a unity game, and every other piece of shit contributes to why the public thinks unity is a shitty engine.

You're Notch?
Why did you program it in Java?

The on hover link seems to transition to brighter rather than just changing like usual. Kinda neat
Or it's my eyes

Like, why would you want to make the game so that the player is automatically running right, and the camera is following it, when you could make the player and the camera stay put, and just feed a scrolling randomized feed of platforms from the left?

So that the platforms come from the left, go to the right, you jump from it, land on the next platform coming from the left, etc. Think canabalt.

"He who can, does. He who cannot, teaches."

>reading is for fags
t. american

So, where/how should I study c#?

Anyone working on a multiplayer game?

go to dpg
agdg is for jlmg

nani

Not the main focus of it but my game's going to have multiplayer (both coop and versus).
I'm prototyping the multiplayer part right now though, so no real content to show.

gimme a halloween game I can make in ONE day

Why aren't you participating in Ludum Dare?

It doesn't matter either way
Going right is less work, but it's not like it's significant

google tutorials

...

I attempted to make a small thing for Halloween Jam while also trying to stay on schedule for Demo Day and now I won't finish in time for either of them. I need to abandon distractions and just stay on my main. It's the only way I will get anything done.

You're learning Blender properly, right?

You're making a game, right? R-Right?
You're not just shilling CGCookie every day, right?

I'd rather not pay $21 a month.

----[ Recap ]----
Game: Generic Zombie Shooter Redux
Dev: Generic Dev
Tools: Java, Slick2D
Web: None
October: skeleton
Progress:
+ added Grenade Launcher
+ added Gasbag enemy type
+ lots of refactoring
- realized game entity movement speed is framerate dependent; working on fix

wtf! I love unity now.

If you can't make a game with only boxes, then you're not a real game dev.

I suggest you watch this:

youtube.com/watch?v=iPwdia3gAnk

$21/month is nothing if you're serious about improving your skills.

Wat? All real witches are flat. How do you suppose to protect your virginity in melee if you have bladders of fat obstructing your movements?
(Now that you think of it, all witches I've ever drawn are flat)

---[ Recap ]----
Game: Lipstick Vermin
Dev: Daxalog
Tools: Unity3d, Blender
Web: Daxalog.tumblr.com , @Daxalog
October: bat
Progress:
+ Tilt based attack animations are now in
+ Basic attack functionality added
- Need to re do how sliding while attacking should work.

Reminder that Unity uses Nvidia PhysX for its physics engine.

Can you prove that what the video says it's true and that CGcookie is worth it? No, posting other people's models doesn't count.

The whole reason I use Blender is because I'm a poorfag. I'd like to improve my skills but I'm not going to pay that much.

hey guys i wanna make music for your game

Can you prove global warming is real?

If you're not prepared to look at models, then you can only judge on what you know. CG Cookie have a 3 day free trial, so nothing stopping you from at least seeing what's on offer.

That, or you could keep watching those BornCG videos on youtube, where he fails at creating a lego character.
