I've been wanting to get a dungeon crawler for a while would EOV be a good place to jump into the series knowing pretty much nothing about it other than it's supposed to be pretty hard

in eo5, humanity isn't real and you end up going into space

It's still awful because it doesn't take into account piracy or borrowing etc. More geeky people like us willl frequently pirate (this thread has a link to a pirated game, for e.g.) and less geeky people will borrow off friends when they've finished.

Depends on your party.
An Elemancer is great with a Shaman since the Prayers infuse Clever Strike for sustain and Dance Oracle makes their T2 spells hit even harder.
An Omnimancer on the other hand does not rely on someone dealing INT damage before them and can weave spells together to take advantage of physical buffs and debuffs.
