Wordpress: general Veeky Forumsness

Hi Veeky Forums I've been interested in using Wordpress to get a website which can later be monetized, and I wanted to ask in the general pool of knowledge that is this board:

What are the usual ways to monetize a Wordpress site? I know that WooCommerce and affiliate marketing are two of those, but I'm wondering of there are any plugins or ways to make money out of pageviews, or any other methods unknown to me.

Wordpress general? Wordpress general

Aliexpress dropshipping maybe?

It's something I've been considering for some time.

this discusses a wordpress plugin:

Elaborate pls. What is the upside of using this, as opposed to Oberlo + Shopify?

Hi user. Frustrating when people don't respond to your thread huh?

You can monetise it and earn money purely from views, not clicks, through wordads. It's an ad platform similar to Adsense but wordpress runs it. Keep in mind wordpress doesn't allow any other ad platforms on it such as Adsense. So wordpress is the only option for ads on your website.

I just signed up and got 60,000 website views last month so I'll let you know how I go.

There's also affiliate marketing, but I don't know much about it. But it's probably something you can look into

Ah, much appreciated m8. Always a pleasure to have someone provide knowledge on this matter.

Any idea on what the rates of WordAds are? I'm assuming that they have a vetting process and you have to provide solid stats before you get accepted, right?

>wordpress doesn't allow any other ad platforms on it such as Adsense

This is bullshit. You can do whatever the fuck you want on your Wordpress installation.

Or are you saying that it doesn't allow another ad platform running simultaneously with Wordads?

Usually you have to have thousands of views per month to get accepted, but I think they have a deal if you upgrade your plan you get instant approval, which is what I did, but then downgraded later.
I'll let you know about the rates, you can't see your report/earnings till after the end of month so I'll get back to you as I haven't received mine yet. If you wanna keep in contact about it my email is: [email protected]

Well, just hosting and making your site through them, yes they only allow word ads. But i have no idea about downloading wordpress n shit so I dunno

You used WordPress.com because you are a stupid pleb. Use WordPress.org for full functionality.

Wordpress seems like a good deal at first glance but after you get to reading their TOS you find out they are pretty restrictive on what you can actually do.

To run any sort of business on wordpress you have to buy their $100 per year plan and a domain from them and even then you can't host porn or do any affiliate marketing etc.

You'd come out cheaper just buying a regular hosting plan from somewhere else and host whatever you want.

That is what I intend to do. Get a cheap host like Bluehost or similar, pay $5 per month and install the Wordpress.org full package, so that I'm not depending on the WP TOS when it comes to hosting whatever those kikes mandate.

Theres probably better CMS than wordpress too im sure.

Another option to bypass the hosting jew is to host it yourself from home if the site your planning doesn't require too much bandwith it's possible. Windows IIS has all kinds of CMS software that can be installed with one click.

>Theres probably better CMS than wordpress too im sure.
Such as? Pls no lmaodrupal or lmaojoomla

A shit load...

This is not true WordPress is GPL code as long as you don't use their stock images its literally free and open source for any use; including monetizing and/or reselling

OSCommerce for eCommerce, literally an hour of PHP and Google for a text blog

>What are the usual ways to monetize a Wordpress site?

If you don't know this, you don't know enough to make any money doing it anyways.

I know two, barring ecommerce: ad revenue via traffic and revenue via affiilate links. But I was hoping that someone could shine a light on additional/not so popular ways to obtain money. Care to elaborate, user-sama?

I was referring to wordpress.com Stop being a dense fuck.

>trying to profit off a free hosted service
>not having 5$ a month for hosting

>>/b/

Im dead

This so much.

Depending on your selected host, you can damn near pay $5 a year for hosting.
