Normally I use the multi targeting MA skill that does holy damage. with the blackwing bow and peripats you can hit a ton of hearts at once for huge damage. doing it as a sorc is much more fun though.

Holy Focused Bolt. You enchant yourself with a Holy Affinity, charge up a Focused Bolt - a Core Skill - and let loose. It's literally an Arisen-Sorcerer's bread and butter.

How do you enchant yourself? Even if I turn away from the pawns and release all the buttons before the spell is charged, my arisen still does a 180° backflip and buffs the pawn just spanking behind her.

L3 or R3 while casting. I can't remember which off the top of my head.

The one to make the crosshair appear? It's the left stick, same than for sprint.

Using a xbox 360 gamepad.

Toggle it to yourself by pressing L3/Left analog stick. I can't believe you would miss out on such a staple of the class, user. Have fun with this-- it can actually punch out 'more' damage than a nuke spell given the right situation.

Also the ps4 pro handles the framerate drops pretty well. using multiple hihg level spells on ps3 just about had smoke coming out of the console. is the game well optimised on PC? any user with expensive hardware able to get like 200fps?

Yeah, I knew about that. The button is strangely mapped but it's handy to snipe.

I honestly don't understand people like you. The biggest draw of Sorcs in Dragon's Dogma is that you're not just spamming Soul Arrow style things like magic users in most games do, but you actually cause huge earthquakes and impale dragons with giant ice spears and summon meteor storms, yet you opt for the boring and safe Soul Arrow style spam as bread and butter anyway, despite 4Sorc syncing still resulting in total annihilation of everything on screen.

Blunt reduces enemy defence in damage calculation I believe, yes. It doesn't totally ignore it though. That's why beyond just warhammers and maces having higher raw than swords immolation does more damage than thousand kisses as a MA (the bulk of immolation's damage is blunt physical).

"Sulfur Saurian!" yells my pawn 4 seconds after the beast has been grilled to perfection.

Arrows does blunt damage as well. Pretty weird that there's Pierce Resistance but no way of dealing Pierce Damage.

Go with what looks better. The best twohander is a sword and at that point the gap in raw is so high that which kind of damage it does is irrelevant.

I like how death is genuinely spooky and in early BBi you have to just run for your life but holy shit. i think in BBI 2 he should not teleport away. if you don't knock him down the fights just take forever. Even with ricochet in a tight corridor and all the stagger gear I can find he only barely staggers once.

So I fired up DD:DA today and I can't for the life of me figure out what story quest I'm on.

I'm pretty sure I met the Duke already, but I don't have any of the story quests as active quests, at all. How do I figure out what story quest I left off on?

Gear is all that matters, game and all its content are completely accessible by any class at any level. People do Veeky Forums runs all the time becuase that's the proper way to play. Some people even play unarmed painless.

Its all copypasted corridors with only a few unique rooms. Most of the enemies are also just reused assets.

whatever you do don't level 1-200 as purely a mage and/org sorcerer, other than that, do whatever you want. if you ignore this advice it's not a big deal though.

10-200 as a Sorcer at least leaves you some prospects for Magick Archer/ Mystic Knight.

1-200 as a Mage is pretty much build suicide, though. Luckily I don't think there's anyone on Earth who could actually play Mage for 200 levels.

I think 1-200 as a Mage would still allow you to switch to Sorc and Magick Archer if you wanted to?
