what caster racial is better for HC raiding Goblin or Troll? 3mins cd and 10sec effect seems a bit weak for it to shake the overall dps but it would help if cataclysm has scenarios where you need a lot of burst from the raid in a short window.

Can trolls be warlocks? If no, goblin. Warlocks are the only class that would really benefit from burst haste over constant haste I believe.

My reasoning for holding out until Hades is because they have been a stable project for many years. There will be a tiny bit of security that my characters are not going to be gone after half a year because of teenage drama between admins.

The real problem with discord is that it's full of fucking casuals. I just can't find a private server I want to play on that isn't completely marred by something terrible, Warmane looked great until I saw the cash shop. Tauri is supposed to have REALLY good scripts but it has pathetic population compared to Warmane, and I also don't speak Hungarian

I'm playing druid and have tested abilities and talents. All works fine. Done all quests in hellfire peninsula and only the escort quest in den of haal'esh bugged abit(the escortee attacked mobs that other hordes out of my group was fighting)

i guess a quest being bugged here or there isnt a big deal unless the quest reward is very important. I haven't played WoW since TBC, so I guess I'll give Hades a try in two weeks when it launches, I just want to get into some new WoW content I haven't played before, while also trying to avoid horrible amounts of leveling grind. Playing an Arms warrior in Cataclysm with the goal of getting the upgraded ragnaros hammer seems fun, I just didn't want to invest a bunch of time, only to find out that some crucial things are completely broken (like some other TBC server I played on many years ago had gimped felguards that only have 25% of the attack power they should, and I didn't know this until I actually leveled into the felguard and saw its damage was completely pathetic)

has anyone tried the warmane mop server? looking for some "nu-wow" servers with decent pop. tauri was damn good scripted for mop but has like no pop :/

Only did until first boss in ramparts but pathing, LoS'ing and such works just fine. Better than paymane desu.

i was there briefly before i switched to tauri MOP because they have a high rate MOP fun server with vendors that sell almost every tradeskill component in the game. as far as the server is concerned i didnt have any issues with scripting or bugs while getting a character to 90 on warmane, but then I discovered that warmane lets people just buy purples for every slot in their cash shop, so I quit and didn't look back.

I have a 90 hunter fully bg geared on molten mop, thankfully the server is not as full as their wotlk one so you don't need to pay a fee to bypass the made up queue.

I had my share of fun grinding bgs because it pops almost instantly and at every hours of the day/night, that's their biggest selling point.

I can't get into pre Cata-WoW. The artificial difficulty is overly time consuming even on 5x and 7x. Practically dying waiting for Hades.

orc or goblin lock for hades? demo is strong so the orc racial seems like it'd be solid but rocket jump/barrage in pvp seems too good to pass up.

i have honestly never played cata before, since i have two weeks before that server launches, tell me: is arms warrior a good/wanted 2h DPS class for raiding? if not, what is? I want someone who can use the new rag hammer, that is also wanted for raiding so I can actually get said hammer.

fuck now i'm torn, i have played all 3 warrior builds through vanilla and TBC, so I have more experience with the class in the early years, but on the other hand I have never played a paladin. Seriously considering playing one just because it's a new class for me, but if ret paladins are only needed for some buff and arms warriors are better DPS, I feel like I'd have a better chance at getting a raid slot as an arms warrior, as I don't trust LFR at all.

rogues are better dps wise but warriors can pick up the slack when adds start wailing on the group and have amazing cleave damage while rogues are just good at staying alive and only assassination has any AoE

the only real problem IMO is when you eventually want to find a guild for pvp or raiding or something and they require you to install discord or some other voice chat program. I prefer a guild that doesn't require installing external programs just to join, chat exists ingame for a reason, and having to join voice chat so i can hear raid leaders disables my ability to listen to literally everything else.

Discord has intensified the clique mentality install X bullshit I feel like. Guilds would ask you download vent/mumble/etc but it was never required this much until post Discord.

speaking of cliques, loot council bullshit has ruined so many guilds in games. the only systems that truly work are DKP-based systems, or complete RNG rolling (which is a doubled edged sword, it's fair to everyone but if your main tank/healer/whatever don't get enough gear, your guild can't progress at all)

in raw numbers its worse than goblin, but when you stack it with class cooldowns, trinkets, potions, etc then it easily catches up

There's a mini client that you can get from the Hades website, or you can get the whole client in a torrent from Atlantiss wow's site.

our raid leaders way back when had hotkeys bound to tell people things, like before the massive shitstorm of adds shows up during nefarian, aoe gets instructed to move to position and prepare to burn everything down with the press of 1 chat hotkey

i get the negative attitude towards discord, and i share it (especially when it comes to public discords) but using voice is pretty much required for proper communication in raids.
i dont know if any guild ever did serious raiding without voice, but i cant imagine it at all.
