FEH boosted Ninian's popularity.

By the time the Dragon gauntlet came out, not only was she on multiple banners at that point (five or six?), she's also proven her worth as a good unit and she has a really cute artist. The other dragons just couldn't compare, even the newer ones like both Corrins. It doesn't help that female Corrin had garbage art.

Anyone that isn't brainlet or deliberately trying to rile others up knows Ninian won primarily because her competition was literal whos, unpopular characters (fucking mamui really?), and a gimped Femui with bad art, bad skills and stats that counteracted her wide distribution. Ninian also shared wide distribution, but had good art, skills and stats. I really don't understand why this was so hard to understand.

Similarly, this gauntlet could have Soren pulling off similar results, but I don't think his distribution is as big. Takumi or Ryoma could take it, depending on fujo turnout, Takumi. Hinoka and the rest may as well be non-factors.

Saving this to post it here hurt me a little.

Ayra doesn't just start as an enemy unit, but comes from the nation Grannvale is currently at war with. What's actually happening during that war is unclear to the characters, so Ayra doesn't really trust Sigurd; she just travels with him to protect Shannan. She warms up enough to choose to stay with him over returning to Issach even when they're right on the border.
Beating the game enough times unlocks an additional scene to the opening where Arden challenges Ayra to a sparring match. They also have a conversation if they get married.
