I don't really like the idea of spawning projectiles from the gun barrel, that would mean angle of the shots is affected by guns orientation in the animation. Which is true in real life, but sucks in video games.

If you're using hitscan weapons, you could do the actual damaging ray-casts from the crosshair view, but spawn tracer trails from the barrel of the gun towards the point the crosshair is aiming at.

If you're making a meme game you may as well go full retard and add lootboxes ~ironically~.

I'll probably have to deal with a couple C++ stuff for multiplayer but so far I've managed to connect to servers locally and travel maps without.

My most common use is external/directory stuff. For example blueprints can load a save game if you have the name, but not look in a folder to find save games.

During an on hiatus/dead project I did most of my graphics menu in C++ because that was how you could write to configs (I think they've improved in this regard recently), little things like checking the version of directx the game was running in.

That's what I was doing up to this point as well. Only some functions to access raw pixel data from textures. I also have a ded multiplayer project done in blueprint only. But seeing how fucking easy it was to make a simple map editor by writing it in C++ and just exposing "change field" "get map" etc. functions to BP I think I'll be using C++ more. Looking back many of my projects were killed because I tried to do really complicated, computation heavy stuff on BP. I feel enlightened. This has to be the way. Using blueprints and engine as a big library to handle input, graphics, and level creation, while the game logic is in classic code.

Oh yeah I didn't think about that one. Kind of a bummer but that's the least of my concerns right now.

In my previous (hiatus/dead too) project I had found two nodes for graphical options, one for the level and one for the resolution (can't remember their names) but I didn't manage to get them to work. Again this is not much of a concern right now.

Most complex thing I had done was pathfinding (needed a three dimensional one instead of the built in version), and even that was done in blueprint.
It's a case by case scenario but I don't think I'll have to do actual code for my current or even upcoming games.

Going to use these sprites as the base for the character profiles of the girls.
Just need make some tummy overlays for 3rd month, 5th month, 7thmonth and 9 month of the pregnancy.

I was trying to generate a dungeon with a set number of rooms. Rooms were attached to the sides of corridors that were connecting between "hubs". Hubs were more or less placed on concentric circles. I wanted the rooms and hubs divided into "zones", and I wanted to be able to generate the dungeon to have a specific number of rooms. And I've probably done it in a very retarded way, using custom A* to check which zone center is closest to the room so that the room can be assigned to a zone, doing multiple O(n^2) operations because I was iterating over edges again and again.

And all in blueprint.
Christ I was dumb on so many levels.

That reminds me when I tried making a modular room builder so I could input a room size, tweak some variables to change what's inside or which assets it uses from my modular ones and get different looking rooms without too much effort.

Somehow I ended up with more spaghetti than my a* implementation, the whole thing was an utter mess.

Progress : Sneak movement

I'm trying to add sneaking AI behavior into my game and it's a big & tricky task.

Challenge lies in adding functionality without impacting path-finding performance, so I worked on improving existing A* function to handle this.

I plan on adding units moving to best sneak attack positions. (sorta like XCOM2 where you sneak attack for bonus then you're revealed for the rest of the combat)
