wanted to write a fanfiction tier (but with it's own world, etc, not ace combat) story for a while, where a major story element was going to be a space elevator.
because i'm at sonic recolour levels of creativity, this wasn't an original idea, it was just other people's ideas spliced together on enough levels to give a passing illusion of originality.

Now Ace Combat is doing it, it would be immediately apparent it was a stolen setpiece and not very creative. However, despite the correct conclusion that could be reached here - it comes from the wrong place, because the set piece wasn't stolen from Ace Combat but from AirForce Delta Strike. (Which to be fair, was a game made up almost entirely of potential setpieces.)

The idea for space elevators has been around long before Ace Combat and Airforce Delta Strike, don't worry about being unoriginal, because those two series haven't.
Try to worry about the actual execution of the concept instead.

Even if AC7 only achieved average review score of 70 or below, I would still buy and play it.

Depends on what the reviews say and what the sources are, if you're going by reviews at all. Like, think Kirby Air Ride, which has shitty scores despite being an absolutely based party game.

To be fair it's still stupid to fly escort like that but two 250lbs bombs hardly count as CAS loadout for a Jug when you can put so much more on it. Unless the idea was that they joined late after doing some CAS prior. Which would be stupid for fuel reasons but still.

A "journalist" got to play a gameplay demo, wrote that it was monotonous as fuck (no mention of the Arsenal bird crashing the party), archaic, pretended to have played the previous entries with some blantant lies and said the main character was a "strong woman warrior" (ad verbatim) named "Avie", and called the devs unimaginative for that bland theme naming.
What triggers me is calling a soldier a "warrior", actually.
