No, it's recommended to pick Peltasta2 if you want to become a Murmillo. If you like spears, an interesting build would be Sword1Peltasta2Hoplite1Rodelero3Murmillo1. Murmillo has a skill called Cassis Crista that enhances Peltasta, Hoplite and Rodelero damaging skills.

Why would an elementalist or sadhu go Kubas? Pyroego's way better since he gets +10 INT compared to +5 INT/+5 SPR.
To make hybrid cards viable, you can just TWEAK THE VALUES A BIT.

Make pure stat cards +1.1x* and hybrids at *x0.6 (both values rounded down) for two weeks and see what happens. Going all in with stat isn't as good as it was before when mixed stat ones grant you one more stat point, a lv10 pyro is +2 INT compared to level 9 and you'll end up mixing pure/hybrids in case you have X4 STR and XX4 CON and getting +6 for both stats is better than +11 for just one.

Same for most of the other cards, most values are too trash to even consider them and there's no thinking involved as you shove shit into your character beyond "Can I pay for this?".
