Summary:
Saga title is a spiritual successor to Rome 2. Some are guessing the map will be Britannia.
Campaign pack coming up for a past history title, probably Rome 2.
Next big history game is a setting they've never done before. Will feature "important character relations that occur between the major personalities in the game."

Are Orcs getting a buff anytime soon? All they seem to have in the foundation update is changes to LL's. Or are they not as bad as people are making them out to be? What needs to be buffed?

oops i borked the previous thread

Fat disgusting shitfrogs, they deserve to be gassed by nazi rats

isabella's vampire weapon bonus is to vampires embedded in her army and it's a lord bonus, not a faction one.

Literally no metareason to start with Izzy over Vlad given how all of Izzy's good bonuses are Lord and all of Vlad's are Faction.

What happens to the garrison of a settlement if you gift it? I'm tempted to sell Gaza to someone because I'm fed up with having to fight a Fatmid stack every other turn.

Is this a bug or something ? The won't fucking shoot shit up the wall, not even obstructed, they just stand there doing nothing

I love lizardmen!

>ywn be a slann's trusted skink sidekick and bongo drum his belly when he's feeling down
why live?

how can anyone conceive this as good looking?

who /dark elves/ here?
truly the most aesthetic race

The boyz are pretty solidly competitive faction, they play nasty infantry game, Azhag is a beast and their skirmishers out of all things are really good. The biggest strength of the faction is that they can tailor to many match ups due to their deep roster. They have good lords and everything is pretty cheap so they can go wide. The only real weakness of the faction is their reliance on buffs and trash tier shock cavalry outside of broken tusk mob. This from the MP perspective.

never underestimate the modder's ability to make anything worse

The druchi are restless

>tfw imagining a skink playing 'in the air tonight' on a slann's belly

I love ambushes

Shame their roster is pretty lack luster despite looking so good.

Does the final smack level a mountain range somewhere?

...

>Playing Carcassonne
>After 20 turns of chasing goblins and beast armies away have a medium sized army with 2 k ights, a lvl 10 Fey, and a bunch of shitty peasants
>Allies ask me to declare war on Red Duke
>My weak army cant take their city with its full stack but I decide to go help kill some smaller raiding parties in allied turf
>Red Duke attacks and small raiding army joins
>My peasants are weak but I shield them with thorns and heal them as I charge the Duke with my Grail Knight unit and Fey
>He dies, army crumbles
>Next turn I attack the army remnants and the city guard reinforces them
>Kill the wizard and again they crumble
>I waltz into the Dukes city
>Thus passes the Red Duke.

Now I dont know what to do I have no economy and a shitty army

It's a combination of hydras, executioners and cold one's (almost half of the roster) being lackluster and shades being too good. It cripples the diversity of units used when it's almost always the most effective choice to back up your shades with more shades.

why does morathi always have slut only armies

QUICK: DO I PLAY SKARSNIK OR BELEGAR

About how often should high elf influence events be triggering? It seems like half the games I play I get one every few turns and the other half they never trigger

gobbos iz best

Post cute wood elves!!

>tfw you defeat a norscan invasion with your general.
this plays.
youtube.com/watch?v=Z1GDRx-F1C0

I want to believe.

Compared to what? They have so many unit roles and are one of the more diverse armies out there.

Or do you mean
>not every second unit is OP as all fuck so I can't drool on myself and faceroll
? Just use shades then.

>play with shit cannon fodder or with your ancestors who literally return from the dead to lead your clan to victory.
time to choose user.

Hey so if I pick Isabella over Vlad for an ME campaign, Does Vlad still retain his vangaurd deployment ability when I recruit him on the 2nd turn?

If that's the case, Isabella has better faction wide buffs.

Also in regards to building Vlad and Isabella, how should I do it? Should I put points into spells at all or just have vampire lords do the spellcasting?

>Some retard goblins are better than dwarfs who's kings ancestors came back from the dead came to help
green iz best

gobbos are good for catching arrows
wiv their heads.
fuck me, warcraft is back

Are Vampire Colonies ever worthwhile or feasible? I've wanted to do a Migration campaign for a while now, and Vampires are my favourite faction, but it really feels like the lack of Corruption would kick their arse hard. I was thinking of heading south towards Lahmia, claiming it as Vlad and then moving North when Chaos strikes to save that foolish Empire.

Can't wait to deal with chariot stacks for the next 40 turns.

Best girls soon.

Are CA fucking *SEXIST* or something?!

Kroq ME campaign is so slow. This rat & Undead attrition war never goes anywhere, at least the dwarves have fucked off into their hold after wiping out two stacks.

See Mostly that their roster being all about those AP ranged units which makes no sense considering Empire and Dwarves exists with fucking gunpowder units. That and it seems that CA lazily decided to make them into exact opposite of High Elves i.e. long ranged missile units are now short ranged but with higher AP damage; combat buff to keeping units alive for HE; buff to units dying for DE etc.....

That's a lot of Vargs.
Better lube up.

i think the contender for worst ME campaign is dark elves

the first 100 turns is dealing with aghol and when you finish aghol off you discover Varg and chaos invades and they all declare war on you

it's a good thing not a single unit that exists is a match for shades

>Morathi
>Deal with Ss'ildra Tor, Lizards and Skeggi declare war
>Deal with Tiranoc, all of Ulthuan declares war

My only real problem with the Dark Elf roster is Dark Riders can't move-and-fire desu. Everything else is pretty great. They don't have the absolute top tier of infantry but their basic ranged units stay good for the entire game. I wouldn't mind Corsairs being a little more shooting resistant I guess, and I hope if they introduce Hellebron they have army-wide buffs to make a Witch Elf-based army viable.

You need a shadowdart or grey vanquisher Lord if you are doing a shades stack

So it is a just case of them not being OP. Go open up PFM and add 10 to every stat on every unit they have, should make you happy.

I have noticed that a lot of them are somewhat slow in comparison to Vortex and Grand Campaign which I don't know why CA decided to make such slow starts for ME considering that they advertised it as a big free for fall between the factions.

You don't need it, it just makes it better. Barbstorm is the repeater crossbow buff name.

pls respond

How can I make my front line last longer if the enemy has a stronger front line? I know I could add more rows to the unit's formation, but how should I space out each unit from eachother?

I got a few total war games a while ago but never played them, which one should I start with
Medieval 2, Rome, Attila, or Shogun 2

Did you even read my post? Their ranged units are OP enough as I can shred tier 3 infantry with just some darkshards. What is the point in making a hydra into a better flightless dragon with a regen gimmick?

All High Elves look like hags anyway. Same with the Druchii.

...

Start with the old ones because after playing the new ones they'll feel clunky at best. So R1 and then M2 (both of them modded), then move to S2 and Attila for last because it's the most engaging on the campaign map, setting aside. Unless you of course like the setting best.

Yeah, I read your posts. You call a solid diverse army lackluster because you can only use the borderline broken units like a child. "Their roster is all about those AP ranged units." Hell no. If you have this mindset, just do what I suggested and you will have more fun.

You dont need to put any points into spells for eithet if you bring someone along to heal troops but it can be usefull to put a few points into healing undead and magic missile for Iza. I make sure to rush for lightning strime first tbough to take out multi stack armies.

>How can I make my front line last longer if the enemy has a stronger front line? I know I could add more rows to the unit's formation, but how should I space out each unit from eachother?
I meant for leadership/morale, sometimes my front line would route from sheer heavy losses even though they still have 1/2 hp left.

>You gook?

I just tried my first DE start since Mortal Empires and wow they fucked up the Dark Elf lands so badly compared to the vortex campaign. Malekith's starting province is awful.

roll chart?

FAP PLZ

This is surprisingly dark even for delfs.

>a solid diverse army lackluster

Half their roster are literally copy paste of the HE with stat variations. Darkshards = short range archers with AP, Reaper Bolt Thrower = shorter range Eagle Claw Bolt throw with more AP, War Hydra = flightless dragon with regen, Black Dragon = another dragon with a different breath attack whoop de fucking doo.

>you can only use the borderline broken units like a child

I don't mind Steam Tanks and Demigryphs being OP because they are fucking tier 3 units and I cannot use them right away. It is a bit annoying when they are the only thing I can use right away and it becomes apparent that you are gimping yourself when you try to upgrade to more interesting army comps because your tier 1 units are that capable.

>Hell no. If you have this mindset, just do what I suggested and you will have more fun.

If I wanted to have that level of "fun" then I would just lower the difficulty so that I can steam roll the AI regardless of my comp.

>this is exactly as edgy as you would expect for delfs

It's just a bunch of halfling skulls.

Do Tyrion, Teclis and Malekith seem really anime to anyone else?

wtf, this is unacceptable

I'll send a twitter to Grace right fucking now

dont do it, she'll make you infertile m8

>implying Grace, a goblin who likes to castrate human men, won't celebrate the killing of children

Why does Surreal, hide his archers behind his spearmen pre-emptively? Why not have them at the front then pull back? I thought your archers should always be at the front line where you move them back before their melee engages your ranged.

a stack is magically generated for the new owner

high ground anakin

You can play this card with every single faction in the game. In the end all you have across all factions are like a dozen unit types with stat and visual variety. Dark Elves happen to cover most of those unit types in ways that are end-game viable on any difficulty. So their army is anything but lackluster.

>If I wanted to have that level of "fun"
What other possible reason could you have to say something as childish and embarrassing as their army is all about ranged AP?

Rolling since Franz camp is done

He's fighting Norscans, they don't have archers, he can keep his archers out of harms way and they can still outrange anything his enemy have.

Putting your archers out in front is only neccesary if you're facing something that has equal or greater range than you, to stop your melee units being shot to pieces without your archers being about to return the shots.

I'm impressed that he removed all the status bars like fatigue, leadership/morale, ammunition, and only has banners showing. That's like playing blind.

Not really, TW is so casual now that the only relevent information is whether the unit is broken or not.

I've done this with archer units in literally every game since they fire in an arc. Gunpowder units I will put in the front and then have them retreat and then set them on the flanks.

I've also never enabled all of that extra bullshit either.

How many units should I have in an army that uses up magic? I tried having a loremaster, noble, and a wizard, but I think it was a poor decision. Thoughts?

>take back rightful clay from grobi hands
>get rewarded with this

For Tyrion faction:
Should I even bother building lower tier units like spear men for a front line? I usually just use shielded sea guards and long swordsman. Alos, what are white lions good for? I find they die very easily and didn't do well against other HE factions.

>TW is so casual now
When was now? Rome II?

damn...

Anything from Medieval II onwards.

>Tomb Kings still not announced

>You can play this card with every single faction in the game

If you cannot distinguish that the Lizardmen and Skaven have significantly different units, mechanics, and army comps that drastically impact how you play them then you are retarded.

>What other possible reason could you have to say something as childish and embarrassing as their army is all about ranged AP?

I am not sure if you understand the concept of good power scaling and balance. When it is obvious that a stack of tier 1 units is nearly effective as a stack of tier 2 units or even tier 3 that means somebody fucked up with balancing the game not because hurr durr just play on a lower difficulty so you don't notice this glaring flaw.

>there's a woman lead working on the historical TW
Jesus, how CA has fallen. You just KNOW there's gonna be strong independent womyn units in whatever era the game will be in just to sate the disgusting corruptive sjw. Not to mention dumbed down to female levels.

no elves

lothern seaguards are all you need

>preemptive bitching
You are the cancer.

Gimme something fun.

So are we getting a LL pack before the TK? I get a feeling they'll spend more time developing them since they can't just throw in a sloppy mini-campaign and half baked roster as DLC.

Someone screencap this for when the game comes out.

Weren't there already some of those in Attila? For the Jutes or something?

Generally, if I can afford Sea Guard, I just use them, they double both your missile and ranged unit numbers so it's a no brainer.

White Lions are useful for taking walls on settlements or otherwise fighting through chokepoints because doing that with Sea Guard or Spearmen is like watching grass grow. They're completely replaced by Sword Autists later in the game though.
