Chill my fucking god

Chill my fucking god.
Fucking mods on this board.
They just deleted an interesting discusson on immigration.
What the fuck?
>History & Humanities
>Humanities
It was not off topic.
Mods need to fucking chill what the fuck.
This is the most comfy board on this site, c'mon I don't wanna discuss immigration on /pol/

...

Veeky Forums is becoming a stealth /pol/ because it's impossible to have reasonable discussion on /pol/ because it's crawling with 14 year olds

Yeah, and I don't see nothing bad in that.
This place is a reasonable and smarter version of /pol/.
What's wrong with that?

...

The one I don't get is that someone deleted a thread on Mahan and his theories. It was pretty near the bottom of the catalog anyway, I only had it in my tab in case someone responded to my latest. That's about as pure history as you can get, yet it got the axe.

Meta threads belong on /qa/ newfriend

there is one meta thread allowed per board now

Have you been on /qa/ recently? Is all a "delete /pol/" circlejerk.
Now that trump won that place is the little bitch of /pol/

Stealth /pol/ means this board gets deleted since we already have /pol/.

Look at the vidya boards. 3 of them, they coexist peacefully

cont.
And I think we need a fucking fail safe board just in case that the cancer spreads too much and all the non cancerous boards gets floated.
I'd say this on /qa/ if /pol/tards didn't fucking destroy the place.
I don't think people on here come to this board only

It's political.

Fuck off

Be more persistent, retard

We're here to discuss history and philosophy, not

>hurr durr muh white aryan race, muh opressed majority, muh IQ, muh western civilisation is collapsing cuz cultural marxism etc.

You want that bullshit, go to /pol/ or /leftypol/

The real issue is that Veeky Forums mods tend to delete actual topics based on actual historiography because of /pol/-like topics, and leave the actual /pol/tard and /leftypol/ topics up. Sometimes retards come and post porn and other stupid shit and it goes untouched for HOURS while actual historiographical threads are deleted. I'm 99.98% certain that we don't have a dedicated mod and the people that do end up as cross-board moderators just delete things as they see fit.

Post the OP of the thread that got deleted and we'll judge you fairly and equitably.

I'm not the OP, just a bystander. However, to anecdotally corroborate my point, yesterday we had a historiographical debate about the Electoral College system. There wasn't any talk of the actual election, but how the Electoral Process was structured, constitutional articles regarding it, federalist papers for, anti-federalist papers against, so on. Deleted after about half an hour despite only being tangentially related to /pol/. Meanwhile, there is a literal thread about the contemporary arguments for Marxism up right now that has been up ALL DAY, a thinly veiled /pol/ thread about xenophobia that has been up ALL DAY, a thread about the fucking political system known as technocracy that has been up ALL DAY, etc. Like I said, non-/pol/ threads that are tangentially /pol/ related get deleted quickly despite historiographical discussion. Actual /pol/ and /int/ shitflinging threads stay up for hours or fucking days at a time.

I remember the EC thread. It was good. But you have to remember mods are retards and in the context of recent events making a thread about the EC was just asking for it.

>But you have to remember mods are retards and in the context of recent events making a thread about the EC was just asking for it.
That... that is exactly the point of this thread. That mods are either doing their job flippantly or not at all.

>c'mon I don't wanna discuss immigration on /pol/
>I don't want to reap what I have sewn

I mean in that case why even bother having mods?
Just self moderate by having regular board posters shit it up pro bono.
That's how it used to be done.

Can we please not make this /pol/? History is pretty self evident, but humanities is defined as human culture, especially literature, history, art, music, and philosophy.

The 25 year rule applies to all of the above. If you're going to talk about immigration then this board has to make sure it's nothing about the recent immigration cycles across the world and that political views don't get dumped here.

This board needs to be protected from becoming another /pol/.

/pol/ actually has a few decent discussions going if you take the time to look for them.

I think the issue is less to do with the discussion itself (I'd like to see someone try a cohesive definition of 'humanities') as to how serious the discussion is, how aware each party is of the other's position, the degree of fairness and reason of each party and their position etc....

It's the quality of the discussion that really matters, not the topic. As long as we are not exposed to shitposting I am not too bothered with threads on the topic of immigration as it is clearly related enough to the humanities.

Except those boards have a specialized role. Just as Veeky Forums does.

Don't post a general in /v/ when you have Veeky Forums
Don't post /pol/ shit on Veeky Forums

If you don't like the state of your board, attempt to fix it. Don't shit up this one.

It wasn't that interesting, or else they would not have deleted it.
