Just look at some of those commendations. Besides farming, some of those are incredibly situational. Achilles was a fun little goal to work towards but if anyone wants the full set they're in the wrong place. Even letting randos join would do jack shit unless hg and all of the randos had top tier communication

just finished watching Dark City (1998) for the first time. I feel like the Stranger's goal would've been a better goal for the Flood, instead of "we are the master race, lets consume." from CE onward, ignoring all the Precursor stuff.

The Long Night of Solace didn't fare much better. It's possible that when slipspace fields collapse unexpectedly such as during the halo firing and LNoS, the are unclean and violent in what they take with them. When a slipspace rupture's collapse is controlled as it's designed to, it leaves the surgical crater behind, as was the case of Regret's Solemn Penance when it made it's jump on earth.
