What do?

Quest, and if you can't do anymore quests grind some skills until you can.
Quests skip most of the early levels, give you useful gear/items/teleports, and are fun though that's subjective.
They also give you a reason to do things.

After you've done a fair amount, go for the barrows gloves, and set the Fire Cape as a main goal. That's a long way away though.

You can do herb farm runs to get that pretty easily, like the other fella said.
Or, set the goal of completing the elite varrock diary. Then you passively earn enough for a bond with 10 seconds of effort a day.

If you just wanna grind it, maybe like 10 hours as a fresh account. You can't be expecting the 1m+/hr methods that early.

I was curious about the cost of maxing, so I wrote down the cost or profit of each skill. Is this about right?
I mean I'm just theory crafting, I haven't actually done any of this stuff.

The missing skills I ignored due to how much variability they can have. Like farming can cost 120m+, or potentially profit. Magic can be costly, or there's methods that make money, etc.

Way I'm seeing things, looks like it's still somewhere around ~587m profit. And about half of the 944m gold ever earned is from RC.

Blast furnace steel/mith/addy/rune bars makes a very viable amount of money for no combat reqs

like mith is 500k/hr and it turns smithing into a profitable skill while slowing it down just a tiny bit from gold

Blast Furnacing runite is still 90-97k xp/hr if you have the autism for it, smithing for profit rather than blasting through it with gold is quite viable.

Minnows, of course. Less viable since sharks crashed, but still pretty great.

You're forgetting the whole "1m profit/hr rather than -1.3m/hr with gold ore" aspect, user.

These people don't understand the opposite side of opportunity cost, they want to spend money to do things faster REGARDLESS of whether or not they can actually earn the amount that they are "losing" per hour. That's a -2.3m/hr cost to run gold over rune, but I never see any 2.3m/hr+ strats posted here

Shark prices crashed by about 30% in the past month, minnows are much worse than they were.
But even so, they're still good. Far more braindead than barb fishing, and having a stackable fish is nice, I hated shift-dropping inventories.

And still about 70m profit getting to 99.
