I'd take male vs female idols war over CG vs ML war anytime. The SideHomo Ps here are at least quite peaceful. The both sides are just throwing shit at each other, not noticing the good things with the Other Game and praising everything in Their Game. It's awful.

Does anyone happen to know the sale comparisons of LL and im@s before LL shot themselves in the foot? I always imagined the market for these type things to be that a more focused group would net money as people become die hard fans of a specific character and throw money at things just for her. I'd imagine with a larger cast (CG and ML) this is less the case since you don't become a huge fan of a specific character, at least not as much as you would with the OGs or the LLs.
While you have CG and ML making tons of money, this is also in part the medium as well as the gacha, as opposed to older games being just a static game and dlc as well as other merch, no?

More sale wise as a whole. I say LL because even as a mobage it was still primarily 9 characters which let them get the spotlight fairly equally and often. And comparing it to the similar games of CG and ML to see if a larger cast of idol means more or less money on a whole.

In terms of phone games, I believe SS and TD are doing better than SIF overall, but, to be fair, SIF is ancient and doesn't have 3D models. There are far more factors than just cast or how much content the characters get, such as franchise popularity, willing whales, necessity of spinning the gacha machines and so on and so forth. For instance, SS on average makes more money than TD does, but CG is more popular than ML. An OG-only mobage probably won't be as successful as you probably wishes for it to be. Unfortunately, the 765AS are considered relics of the past and they're far from their peak from 4~6 years ago.
