F4SEfag from last thread here, thanks to the folks who suggested shit. Turns out that restarting did solve the issue, f4se works fine now.

Unfortunately, that made me privy to a much larger problem. So here I am again, asking for advice for a DIFFERENT issue.

Turns out NMM hasn't actually been putting anything in my FO4 directory except .esps. I first noticed the issue when DEF_UI simply wasn't working, ended up manually copying the files over, it works after that. Cool.

Wanting to make sure everything else was good, I decided to spawn in the pieces to a PA mod I had 'installed' and teleported to qasmoke for a frame. To my horror, my head disappeared when I equipped the PA pieces... and I realized there were no graphical assets.

I went to the data folder only to discover that every mod's asset folder was a blank dummy entry, containing nothing. There were no BA2s. Literally the only thing installed were the .esps.

So what the fuck do I do now? Sure, I went RELATIVELY easy on mods... so in other words, I have like 50 mods. As much as I wish to dig through them and decipher which of the 80 sunflowers contain the content I want while manually installing, I really don't.

Has anyone encountered this issue with NMM before? To be fair and honest, I think I'm using a version that's like a year old, is that the problem?

pretty weird, update your shit and uninstall every mod and then reinstall, and if you havn't played in a while make sure you check all your mods for updates.

I think she also knows how to rig. But Bethesda already has experts in that field. I guess they get paid peanuts by comparison though.

All the mods were brand-new from the Nexus, every time I get a Bethesda hankering (be it FO or TES) I start from scratch.

But yeah, I'm just gonna wipe my FO4 install, uninstall NMM and make sure I have the latest version, then try again.
