>What should I do with the armor/weapons I don't want/use?
Check if you can donate any at the hidden teahouse for daily/clan rewards. Otherwise preferably disassemble them. You can also sell them to Tome or donate to Danjo at the Teahouse if you need a bit of extra glory or cash. Later on you'll be keeping them for Soul Matching, but don't worry about that until you get to NG+.

>The blacksmith is expensive, should I be using it?
You don't need to. Throughout WotSamurai and WotStrong you will constantly be finding better gear and builds don't matter so much. Soul Matching is expensive and intended for late game. If you do find a weapon you really like, try reforging it's effects using spirit iron, it's the cheapest and easiest way to improve a weapon.

>Why do people keep mentioning "smithing texts"?
Bosses tend to drop pieces of their armor and weapons when you defeat them. Very rarely they will drop a smithing text which allows you to forge their armor/weapon.

>Which clan should I join? (clan unlocked through progression)
Whichever one has a bonus that you think will benefit your build the most.

New PCfag here. I'm on Kinki and I'm basically unable to find anyone to do Yokai Realm coop, is no one doing it or should I just not bother with it until NG+?

I expected a good game but holy fuck
ninja gaiden + dark souls is a marriage made in heaven apparently

First for SFM PORN WHEN

I want to FUCK Okatsu's feet.

Killed the 3rd boss. I have been wondering. Are the sidequests worthwhile to do?

Depends on the rewards. Although, it's been a while since I've did a sidequest just to complete it. All I've been doing is grinding out Maboroshi for loads of amrita on WotN. But you still have a ways to go before you worry about that.

Yes, the rewards vary but some give things like smithing texts and Guardian Spirits, and even some cutscenes like the Nagayoshi bull one.

Anyone figure out how to get AA in this shit? FXAA is the only AA that works so far using Nvidia Control Panel. Playing on 2048x1152 which helps a bit too.

>defeat a difficult encounter with little health left
>pop an elixer
>a second later mission complete

They weren't joking about Hanzo text farming, holy shit. It's a grind and a half but 19 texts is no laughing matter.

I'm surprised so many people had trouble with Nue. I beat him my second time fighting him.

Fake Shiggy is probably the easiest boss. I was just fucking around with him and practicing parrying the entire fight. Real Shiggy on the other hand shit on me more times than I can count.

How do I change resolution in the cracked version?

Nue-user is a special case.

Just picked up the game for me and a long-distance friend, how is the online multiplayer? Are we able to just play the entire game together?

once you unlock torii gate

Yes, you can either do it the Souls way by summoning each other or use the dedicated method of Yokai Realm with a Companion where you don't have shrines but revive each other as you go and both count as the host.

pls respond ;_;

apparently it's locked by steam download region
sorry friend

Anyone else really like Ginchiyo's haws

>spider
>23

What the fuck lmao

>this Onryoki submission after White Tiger
>each of his attacks do 2-3K damage, instantly OHKOing you
>oh, and he has no weakness ;)

This game is fucking cancer. Thats it. Im done.

Ginchiyo a cute. Shame she's fucking dead by the time the DLCs happen.

>getting hit by Onryoki this late into the game
White Tiger is twice as fast as he is.

you're supposed to let Sakata-sama pull aggro and do all the work.

How's my Anjin? I know the weapon's kinda edgy but it fit my color scheme .

>The amount of time it takes to match with people via Random Encouters

I just wanna help.

Oh God what is this? A demonic bard?

mfw it doesnt take me long to find some one on psn

but I'd rather play pvp

He most definitely has weaknesses. He is vulnerable to literally every debuff and there is even a stat to specifically reduce damage from Yokai. Try to expand your strategy past “hit it until it dies”.

I'm in US-Miami, does that mean i can only play with US-Miami people? That's fucking stupid.

>A Connection Error has occured

Does this mean it cant find anyone or steam is shit?

I don't know I'm on PS4 I'm just repeating what people have said in the past few threads since it didn't come up in this one yet.

Look closely at the lute

So why the fuck isn't online just working properly. I can connect to one dude, but can't connect to another when the game straight up acknowledges it's online and knows they're online.

Is it even worth trying to get armor sets in NG?

Pcfat, new to Nioh, played all the souls games (and all the Ninja gaiden games). I've had a pretty easy go of it so far but I do every side mission as soon as it's available so maybe I'm over levelled.

Thanks for covering the OP while I was at college.

Is there any actual proof that it's tied to download region?

I have more money than I know what to do with, help

I'm willing to test it out if anyone wants to give it a shot, just set up a mission and post your IGN and I'll jump in ASAP

>monk supposed to be Hoichi
>still has both ears
Yokai fuckin up

>It's an ocean roars again episode
>Host falls into the water
>YOU fall into the water because youre a smug piece of shit

Wake me up

How did I do fellas?

what does increasing a weapon's level do?

are dual swords OP? seems to be doing pretty well in the first jap town, died a few times though

makes it stronger
increases the % of some of the effects

not exactly cryptic

the end result didnt show anything increasing but now i realize that's because it resets familiarity.
thanks

As far as I'm aware a lot of the early game recipes are single katana

Dual seems to have some ridiculous niche DPS attack that people spam the fuck out of, but beyond that it's a lame duck. (It'll still work mind you)

Everything is OP.

>level 21
you wasted your time, that shit will barely get you past the silver mine without finding a better weapon.

Die you Naruto piece of shit
He was fairly simple, I was expecting a frog familiar too

I really want to fuck Saiorse, does anyone know if she is canon waifu?

I was going to soul forge it later on maybe.

Quit killing my joy you sumbitch.

>Earth and Fire will always be shit

saiorse ronan is pretty cute, she should play her in the inevitable film

proficiency bonus is hot garbage on a damage weapon. all it does is increase proficiency faster (the thing that gives you skill points for using a weapon) and the mystic art, which is gated anyway.

that and this

Nothing/Everything is OP. Always use what you want. They have some pretty cool gimmicks with dual elements down the line but that'll be a while.
Don't even bother with Soul Matching on NG. You won't be needing to do that at all until NG+. It's nothing more than a waste of money since you'll be getting better loot at nearly, if not every single mission.
Funny enough, those were the two elements I focused on with my first two playthroughs of the game. Earth looks really nice and fire had nice damage. Then I used Water and never turned back. But then again, my main weapon is too slow to apply that most of the time.

>earth looks really nice
it's so sick-looking. how come it has to be useless?

Plz help
Just beat centipede, I've just been throwing everything out and changing out gear like every 20 mins

just switch to us-miami or something and just search to be a visitor

Sometimes things just don't work out. Hell, the two weapons I focus on rely on completely different stats with no overlap. Good thing I still use a katana as a tertiary since you get so many Samurai Points.
Grab some Warrior of the West maybe and try to keep using the set but getting better drops for it. Fight revenants more and they'll usually wear WotWest, letting you get the equipment without too much fuss.
Just make sure to stay at A or B agility. Don't get to that weird midway point or go to C agility. C sucks.
If you really can't get good WotWest gear or Red Demon gear, just put on what you like while trying to put at least two or three pieces of the set in. Check the set bonuses to see the breakpoints that sound good to you. Just don't be THAT guy. They're the ones who use either of those sets, mainly Red Demon, for the rest of their lives. That's why you hear "Red Demon shitters" thrown around sometimes.

>Just don't be THAT guy. They're the ones who use either of those sets, mainly Red Demon, for the rest of their lives.
Until Koei makes a better set I'm going to be that guy and there's nothing you can do about it.

I switched to US-Dallas and I'm getting pretty much instant summons in Random Encounters now.

You're right. I can't do anything about it.
More power to ya mate. So many months of seeing nothing but Red Demon left a bad taste in a lot of older players' mouths but your choice is your choice. Best of luck to ya.
My question: Do you use a spear or are you just using it for the Ki Recovery?

Yeah I'm using spear. Twisting spear is too good at taking out revenants to not go all the way.

What is the better way for getting rare items— forging or Teahouse shit?

I tried spear a bit but it didn't mesh with my playstyle too well. Glad you're enjoying it. What's your side weapon? There will be a heavy spear set way down the line if you want to be a hyper armored behemoth.
If you're on NG, don't even worry about it. After the second final NG mission, you'll unlock a new weapon rarity that will render everything you have in NG obsolete.

some YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tier music to keep you guys in the mood

youtube.com/watch?v=8sRQy08kslA

nioh_launcher.exe

Tonfa. Tonfa takes out their ki then the twisting spear puts them down.

Nice. At launch I only used the Katana but the DLCs made me change to a heavy Odachi/Tonfa user.
So many stat points for a build that isn't great. It's fun as all hell whenever you use Flash Attack and switch from smashing them with a big sword to punching the shit out of them, grappling them, Flash Attacking again and letting loose a gigantic Imperative Strike to keep them down and get one last Final Blow for good measure.
Making your own combos is amazing.

>tfw you finally git gud at the game
still dont know if im levelling up the right shit or using the correct summons but holy fuck this game is amazing

Why the fuck doesn’t tonfa gun deal fire damage? Why the hell doesn’t fire damage (weapon) improve fire damage from fire talismans? I had hoped these abilities would stack into something useful but I guess the weapon effect only applies to the piss - low natural weapon element stats. Why in the holy hell would you ever want that compared to building up your related ailment easier?

Answer these questions.
Are you on NG?
Are you leveling up Dexterity, Magic, Spirit, and stats based on your weapons/armor?
Is your spirit giving you the bonuses you want?
If your answer is yes to any of these, you're fine. Just wait until at least NG+ to respec since you cannot fuck up NG unless you're increasing only Skill and using only an Axe.

>yes
>been leveling strength stam and the top 2 skills a bunch
>spirit is a bro enough to help me fuck up tough enemies (using the ox)

'bout to fight Yue again, first time sober tho

Then you're all good.
Make sure to get skills for the weapons that you like and start working them into combat. That doesn't mean spam skills, it just means to use them as ways to spice up combat.
But always make sure to Ki Pulse and Flux! You need to gather your fighting spirit in the heat of battle!

whats the drake sword equivalent to this game?
got a sword what does water damage and i feel like it has made the game 1000 times easier

>Fight fake tachibana
>Win on second try
>Fight real tachibana
>He keeps one shotting the shit out of me

Fuck this guy, his dash attack is ridiculous and I run out of stamina too quickly to fight him head on.

There isn't one. Water as a whole is just a good element though.

cheese him around the rock
and rush his ass when his stamina is low

All the weapons the game gives you are very powerful, it's just a matter of being able to use the base systems. Elemental weapons add some really nice damage though especially early on.

I read how Veeky Forums hyped him up, so when I fought the fake boss I was scared shitless. So happy when I beat him on the first try thinking I was hot shit. Then I fought the real Warrior of the West. Jesus fuck. I skipped him and it wasn't until the third region that I returned and beat him, and only after three tries. Holy fuck what a asshole of a boss.

I did beat that ice lady on the first try though. That felt good.

Hope you guys have fun with Masamune and his 2kats. I half expected him to use SIX SWORDS like his basara incarnation on WotN or the Abyss, but that would be asking too much.

PCfag playing for first time. Just beat umibozu, level 40, gearall around level 25-30
Spreading points around but mainly pumping skill/dex and using 2kat, tonfa, and kusarigama

Guys I have no FUCKING idea how the crafting/loot/armor set system works, just been throwing out gear every time I find a new piece with better numbers, and honestly I'm not looking forward to actually having to figure out how it all works at some point but GUYS
I'm having a LOT of FUN

It's really not complicated at all. There's a lot of effects and variations but that's it, but it's good you're enjoying it.

I'm an ARPG autist so I'm loving being able to reroll any mod. I farmed a purple West Warrior set around your level range by killing Revenants and just rerolled some of the mods to give defense based bonuses and rolled damage ones on the weapons.

What is the best way to get a set of Tatenashi armor? I lucked into two accessories with both firearms and elemental damage reduction so I want to capitalize on that shit.

How much stuff do I have to donate to increase my clan bonus?

>Fighting lightning dog
>He two shots me with the lightning thing
What the fuck

Its not dog its a Chimera. The lightning he casts when he shakes is easy to dodge, you dont even need to roll, just strafe to the side, it casts three times.

>Its not dog its a Chimera.
Settle down buddy, you know what he meant. He's probably talking about the lighting beam.

there are better light sets and better spear sets
if you want both I guess it's the way to go, though.
spearfall is pretty gucci and it's not bad getting free toughness and attack bonus from the clan.

Tome tells you everything to know.

the truth is you don't need to worry about it at all in NG. You unlock Divine rarity at the end of NG and in NG+ the level gets capped. You don't really need to worry about making your perfect gear until then, because at that point you will want a full set of level 150 divines.
