[02 jan 2017] Asie has been working on asie.pl/foamfix/, which remedies 1.10+ RAM issues, as well as a few others, github.com/FabricMC, [YouTube] Silent Charset update.
Second for reposting because I didn't realise the thread was just about to hit the bump limit.
>'Hey guys I want you to profile me and recommend me 1.12 mods given that I'm a math student who's been playing since on and off since beta 1.6 and whose last enjoyable experience was with 1.7.10. I'm quite relaxed now that I won't have to talk to anyone for a while but my computer isn't that good so if the mod won't work well with just 49 or so other mods I'll put in then I'll pass on it.'
I stress 1.12.

Not only is it a paid PLUGIN (not even a mod) but it's also for 1.8. >1.8
Bentley Kelly
Why are you so determined to play on 1.12? Seriously, it's shit. The best experience is still 1.7.10. If you REALLY don't want to play on 1.7.10 for whatever autistic reason, at LEAST play on 1.10.
Dylan Howard
>autistic reason >playing a version I played to death ages ago over 3 years after its release
Do you have any mods?
Ryder Smith
How does Immersive Engineering play alongside other tech mods? I want to use it, but it seems like machines from other mods are OP in comparison (and look a lot worse). Any that are recommended to use with IE?
Joseph White
...What do you think they added since 1.7.10 that would make the game any less played-to-death?
Grayson Bailey
I play vanilla creative on 1.7.10, but want to start playing modded just to have some more building options. The thing is though I play on a locally-hosted bukkit server because worldedit and voxelsniper. Is it possible to run bukkit and forge server concurrently?
Alternatively, has anyone ported worldedit and voxelsniper to pure forge (or something with similar capabilities)?
Brayden Gray
That sounds pretty autistic tbqhfam
Jacob Turner
If 'they' means Mojang, then nothing hopefully. If modders then some mods.
.
Benjamin Parker
Link to my post in the previous thread as clarification.
Luke Morgan
I don't know about voxelsniper, but worldedit has a 1.7.10 forge build.
Also, there was a project to merge the functionality of forge and bukkit, but I think it got abandoned for whatever reason.
Nolan Anderson
I think you forgot to type my reply man.

Except once you heat those inner rooms, they'll stay warm because they're well-insulated.
Jason Ortiz
yes YES insulation, underground is warmer the deeper you go yes looks like a halo map but yes nah it'll end up looking gross in minecraft im sorry to say yes several yes' in your mo creatures esque zoo
William Sanders
a more pressing matter would be ventilation, dont want to have all the residents requiring scuba gear at home
Asher Torres
...So install a ventilation system? Like in every other building with interior rooms ever? The building isn't even that deep. Why are you all trying to invent problems that don't exist?
Nolan Evans
>only just found out about the generic solid blocks from Recurrent Complex and how much they'd help in making the generation of Noodlor's castles from yesterday work >which means I'll have to select and export all that shit again Well fuck, I guess there goes another hour of my life. Why is this mod's wiki so shit holy fuck.

>but now for 39.99 USD It seems I've been too long away from MC... or not long enough.
Robert Mitchell
The negative space blocks also go a long way to help the structure blend into the environment, e.g., rectangular cut outs in the hillside. You can make it gently slope into the structure.
Parker Smith
just reminding user as minecraft has rather loosey goosey building regulations and id rather his villagers didnt all get killed by a flimsy ceiling or something
Ventilation is just ducts and fans. Heating is a bit more complicated because you have to account for shit like heat loss. Buildcraft and Railcraft would go well imo. They don't have much processing on their own so IE could fill that in.

I never knew the Carrousel from Logan's run was this much fun!

I'm still looking for a realistic 1.12 terrain generator that works with Biomes O' Plenty.
>For air quality, have you checked out Ecology? That looks rather promising and I completely missed it. Thanks a lot user. >Can you post a list of the mods you've collected for that survival stuff user? There isn't much to post really. Basically just Biomes O' Plenty for wasteland biome, Lonely Biome so it would generate ONLY the wasteland, and Immersive Engineering for content and aesthetics. And speaking of aesthetics, I threw on Blockcraftery and several resource packs for some creative leeway as well. It may need some tinkering and probably some Ex Nihilo-mod as it is impossible to progress without any trees or regular dirt around. I hope I won't have to fuck with ore generation as well, that would be a nightmare.
Now, I probably won't use it myself this time, but I could recommend Platforms for the catwalks, scaffolding and what have you.
Last but certainly not the least - I'm a casual pleb who even plays on peaceful most of the time, so keep that in mind while asking about hardcore survival. I guess Tough As Nails could fit the bill on that one, what with thirst and temperature mechanics to keep survival challenging or tedious, depending on how you look at it. It may be easier for people to suggest relevant mods if you define the "hardcore survival". I suspect you're looking for more than just thirst and harder recipes with more stages.

If RTG is updated for that version then it's by far the best choice.
Cooper Howard
oh damn that's nice. I'd love to see a build like that...

Anyone know how to get rid of those floating eyes around mobs? I think I sperged out and hit some keys I'm not supposed to and know mobs got that shit floating around them for all their actions.

It has loli Dryads and Mandragoras too.

its between it and EnderIO for what it does, so i hope so

Seems about right, but I can't seem to get it to generate only the wasteland biome. Lonely Biome has no effect. Is it even possible to generate a single-biome world with varying terrain?
Couldn't figure anything out other than the floor thing so the natural generation is most likely still very wonky, but at least now the structures won't be floating in a weird way anymore. Water is still floating though. Rarity is still the same (about once every 250 chunks) so good luck in case you add these to your active folder, and don't forget that you need Et Futurum for everything to generate properly (couldn't figure dependencies out). And a big thank you to Noodlor, I've been wanting to play with these buildings in a survival world ever since I first saw them.

Forgot to mention that I renamed the Castle Collection files according to the imgur album to make it easier to generate whatever you choose.
Kevin Green
here holy shit I love how broken this game is for 1.10 and after. It is literally unplayable because of load times with 60 mods and asie's anarchy fix despite 1.7.10 running fine even with high settings on Optifine with the same number of mods.
Jace Sanchez
Biome Tweaker would necessitate actually writing a script that does the following: • removes all biomes except wasteland • replaces all hardcoded biomes with wasteland • defines and adds pseudo-biomes to all "empty" biome types so that meinkampf won't crash Powerful as it is, I'm looking for something that doesn't make me want to stab myself in the eye with a pair of scissors.
Guess I'll just stick to Lonely Biome and vanilla terrain generator, unless some miracle happens and RTG updates to 1.12.
Ian Collins
You've got the album to the whole thing?

>fairy lights author totally changed a lot of the rendering code when he added pennant bunting haha alright guess that ain't happening 'cause I don't know fuck about working with opengl
Jose Clark
Ah yeah, and something I only found out after going through RC's forum thread: you can rotate buildings with the /#gen [structurename] command, simply by facing another direction. It seems to respect the terrain a lot more than /#import [structurename] too.
Mason Bennett
/#import is used to, well, import a structure. It puts it back in the world EXACTLY as you exported it (i.e., none of the transformation rules fire, no structure markers generate structures, etc.) so that you can modify it, and then /#export it again.
/#gen actually generates an instance of the structure as it will when it spawns in the world.
John Howard
Good thing I found out about it before testing the updated versions then, I would probably have just given up if I tested them with /#import and saw the generic solid blocks failing to work.
Dominic Hill
How long does it take to learn to code I might as well do it just so I can fix shit like this

>return from the nether >airshit is flying through the air and repeatedly crashing into the ground leaving pieces of itself behind I fucking hate valkyrien warfare so goddamn much
Brody Wright
>How long does it take to learn to code That's not a question with a single answer. Programming is a very broad field. For example, I'm a very experienced programmer. It's my job. But I don't know fuck about graphics and rendering. That's a whole specialization in and of itself. It'd take a while to get up to speed on the basics, and even then I still wouldn't know how to translate all these things from this GL wrapper shit Minecraft apparently added in 1.10 back to the native OpenGL calls that the 1.7.10 version is using for all of its special rendering, it'd require even more research (probably with even less documentation because we're dealing with MC internals here).
So yeah it ain't simple shit. Plus, Minecraft and Forge are very event-driven which is something that will probably melt a novice's mind if they've just come out of some basic tutorials.
Kayden Green
Yeah drunkposting thinking I can do something like that probably isn't advisable programming should be taught in high school

You know there's a halt physics command right?
Camden Thomas
yeah and it stopped on its own after just a bit but I was hoping it wouldn't be necessary to stop the physics every time I disembarked because the hover controller is pretty convenient when it's not acting like this and it's pretty atmospheric when the ship is just gently floating back and forth while docked
Jayden Martinez
what version? I couldnt get the new 1.11 final version to work, crashes before it starts.
