dont play on basic user, you can do it i believe in you

take a pugilist a dragoon (its a front row class dont be fooled by the description) and a botanist along with any 2 classes you like for maximum comfy and safety and easily applied high damage

What should my priorities be when it comes to leveling up my bind pug? I've maxed overexertion, have 9 points in 1-2, 5 in each bind and the minimum to get leading blows. Should I max the bind skills, put points into status up, double punch or something else?

You could try Clinch, which is like a budget Chain Blast and sets up Breather chargeup.

someone correct me if im wrong but leading blow uses the binds own levels too just like one-two punch right? combined with the utility of more reliably landing a specific bind right when you want it (leg binds for stampede guys in random encounters especially) maxing the basic binds is probably what i'd do next

I didn't like Clinch when I tried it so I rested out of it, it looks like it needs a lot of points to pay off when I'd rather just hit things for my 4kat to follow up. I might just follow advice.

I don't like spending a slot on one as I already use the res-ring and the xp-sharing ring, but checking every wall takes me a bit out of it, even though that's how I always have played EO.

what are you checking every wall for

Hidden shortcuts, other guilds, events, fireplaces. Everything.

in the end you want max binds, max overexertion, max thunder fist, 9-10 at lead blow, 3 at breather then spend the rest on clinch or status attack up. The order should be getting all important stuff to 5 then maxing single target binds then maxing eveything else.

It does but leading blow puts a modifier on the damage of the follow ups, so increasing the level of leading blow gives you more damage from it than levelling the individual skills

Clinch is a fantastic skill, but it does require a bit of SP commitment. Black Mist + Clinch is reliable and leads to Breather and then Leading Blow for damage.
