/sthg/ #1052 - You Can't Do Anything, So Don't Even Try Edition
it happens a lot in this game. Mortar Canyon's music doesn't get good until like 2 minutes in but the stage is only a minute long. It was probably supposed to be longer. Same with Null Space. The beginning segment was probably supposed to be an entire level or cutscene.
Kevin Robinson
the way his tail is drawn I thought that was his leg and he looked preyyyygnint
Ayden Nguyen
Uh, SEGA had to cut some corners Mario pls understand
Caleb King
pocky kissu
Oliver Wilson
It would be a lot longer and have more of an impact if this happened instead
Is there any unlocks for getting all Silver Moons or Number Rings?
I just got all Red Rings and I'm glad thats over, I don't mind the other two sets because they're all clumped together in one place.
Also post your OCs
Joseph Allen
watching belena's productions scard stupid 3, it's not that interesting or funny.
Nicholas Thomas
the whole four year development time sounds crazy on paper until you realize three of those years were spent on the avatar and new hedgehog engine. In reality the levels were cobbled together in a year by three guys. Forces probably should of been delayed another year but I'm sure Sega was getting impatient
Mason Ramirez
I know it was short, but Mortar Canyon was one of my favourite levels. >Using homing attack to navigate around the level >Getting good at timing the air boost >Finale is a road filled with enemies that's being carpet bombed
If it had Shadow's section of homing attacking moving projectiles then it would've been 10/10.
Better yet, cut classic Sonic and have the game just be the Adventures of Buddy and Sonic. Just think a current Forces Sonic with a bit more care and slightly longer levels that aren't mostly automated.
Adam Martinez
Made my vote
Jordan Barnes
hold the button to tunnel forward underground and up walls
Jonathan Flores
>4 years Not really, they already made the new hedgehog engine so a new game should be out by Q4 2019
Charles Jackson
user are you okay?
Logan Richardson
Saves me a ton of bullshit, thanks user.
All I need to do is the FAST times on the regular levels, god the Extra Stage 6 one sucked.
What could Sega possibly come up with after Forces? (Sans Adventure 3)
Jace Lopez
>Shogakukan Sonic wait what? this thing actually looks cool, even if really weird. Like there's a girl who transforms into Sonic? oh wait he's not a girl? nice
Cameron Wright
I hope they don't scrap the engine, holy fuck. Imagine all that work gone. Not to mention that quite a lot of people enjoyed the game. Imagine if they polished it to Generations-shine.
Nathan Price
4-year development time doesn't really sound crazy on paper, we're just used to getting 3D Sonic's every year or so because there's often been two teams working on Sonic. Now there isn't as there doesn't seem to be an A-team and B-team anymore.
Blake Bennett
>four mores of waiting better not be. I expect a new sonic game in two years max. they have no excuse with having their precious hedgehog engine 2. seriously why the fuck did they waste time on making the game pretty over it being polished fun?
Benjamin Cox
Incoming transmission, they said that you need some clothes on
Camden Evans
>not the null space version of fist bump >or the third phase of the copypaste boss from colors/lost world
Alexander Hall
Generations 2 Generations 2 but they switch the textures at the last minute so we think it's a completely new game
Jaxon Gray
It won't take 4 years unless they overhaul or make a new gameplay engine. I'm expecting the next game to probably be out in 2019.
Hunter Brown
They won't, hedgehog 2 is a graphics engine and Forces looks beautiful. Next game is going to use it even if the gameplay is different
William Edwards
SORRY user I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER ALL THE HEADBANGING I'M DOING
Robert Lopez
Okay user is this better
Daniel Brooks
-Pure Modern Sonic game -Forces 2 minus Classic Sonic with longer or more stages -Game that isn't a running down a hallway sidestepping simulator mixed with a worse version of Sonic Rush
Caleb Lopez
nice
Lincoln Johnson
So, how long until they release another trailer? How long does it typically take?
...Do you think they started something even BEFORE Forces was released?
Isaac Nguyen
If Mania's team sticks around we'll probably be getting Sonics every year-and-a-half to two years. One will be the classic 2D, the other will be experimental 3D.
Yeah, the credits sequence really drove home how beautiful some of the environments are. I never really noticed during my actual playthrough.
Jordan Johnson
Only the parts with female vocals. And that isn't Mortar Canyon, btw youtu.be/GInVL4H4Kxs
Jacob Diaz
We'll probably get something late next year or early 2019
Cooper Murphy
i think Forces is pretty fun.
Lucas Ross
What happened to him? Bullies shot him with paintball guns?
Camden Clark
I kind of want Sonic to have fangs again
Julian Reed
THE SUN IS FALLING IN THE SKY BEYOND LIGHT IS FADING FROM OUR WORLD
THE SUN IS FALLING IN THE SKY BEYOND AND LIGHT IS FADING FROM OUR WORLD
NOW'S THE TIME OF RECKONING THE FINAL BATTLE HAS BEGUN
>the really obvious 'barely out of beta' alignment of rings or your quicksteps are seriously out of alignment with the logical path (most noticable against metal sonic) >those incredibly shoddy jump physics where a lot of gaps CANNOT be cleared without a big run up, most notable in buddy stages
Sonic Generations came out November 1, 2011 The first Lost World trailer came out May 28, 2013
Jackson Torres
Well, that's an improvement. You still look fine either way
Anthony Rogers
>seriously why the fuck did they waste time on making the game pretty over it being polished fun? probably because they honestly thought the gameplay was perfect so they spent their remaining time polishing everything else. It really seems like they were proud of this game. This was supposed to be Modern Sonic's big comeback.
Jack Ward
I don't mind sloppy seconds
Asher Sanders
I don't normally get invested in this kind of shit but no he's basically a drill instructor and he uses paintball versions of Wispons.to train other recruits
He's just sad a lot because the war sucks man
I got this guy too (expect more at a later date maybe?)
Ian Roberts
I'm not voting because I don't really care too much, but I think Adventure, Adventure 2 and Lost World look the best.
Jaxon Cooper
Why is there a message in the new game that says it's "blocking Reccording" but it doesn't blok recording? Is that for anti-livestream protection only or is it broken?
Angel Wood
Was Rouge and Omega's radio chatter In VR Green Hill just Infinite fucking with Shadow? That was pretty rad, it was something I hoped the main game would have
Asher Nelson
Sonic 06's story confused the shit out of me for the longest time (The time travel bit, not the Mephiles-not-killing-Sonic-in-the-first-place, which still makes me confused), and I think I finally figured out what the writers were going for.
To me, there are two types of time-travel: 1: Predestined: Everything has happened and will happen, you're just a cog seeing out the past, and you can't change the future. 2: Tides of Time: Time traveling will create a new reality where your actions impact the future when you head back.
Originally the plot looked like it was doing predestined shit where Sonic, Shadow, and Silver (And companions) made the future happen, up until the final stages for all 3 of the characters. Sonic and Silver saw Eggman's ship blow up, and everyone said "Hey, shouldn't the flames of Iblis destroy the world?" because people interpreted it as Sonic and co. creating new timelines, rather than it all co-existing as one, big, played-out timeline. In reality, Sonic saw the ship blow up while simultaneously seeing himself run down and save Elise (Just not knowing it). This would explain why the world doesn't go to shit instantly, because Sonic and Silver had already time-traveled before it could. As for why Mephiles didn't kill Sonic until after fighting Shadow I have no fucking clue. Maybe he needed 2 Chaos Emeralds to do that infinity thing before being able to get close to Iblis or something?
Autistic rant over, pic unrelated.
Ian Cooper
Is it playable, without the bugs that is?
Aiden Barnes
Reminder that Mortar Canyon is the best stage in forces >Best music >Wide and vertical stage design >Multiple gimmicks and enemies present >Multiple different routes >No 2D sections
Kevin Powell
fuck me I can't wait any longer. It will've been 8 years since a good 3D Sonic game in 2019
Joseph Parker
>So, how long until they release another trailer? How long does it typically take? Probably very late next year (there's always some event being held that Iizuka shows up to around December and hints at stuff) or anniversary time in 2019.
>...Do you think they started something even BEFORE Forces was released? It's unknown, they've likely been experimenting and also keeping an eye on reception to Forces.
My unlikely hope/fantasy is that there was another team working on something mid-development and they'll have something to show off.
Nolan Gray
What about Lost World with a blue aura around? or a blue-purple-rainbow-ish aura
Josiah Watson
In every other game, the quickstep snaps you to certain lanes. In this game, quickstep just moves you a set distance right or left. So that's why the red rings seem out of alignment in the Metal Sonic fight, because there are no more lanes to snap you to.
Jose Nelson
All of it was basically Infinite fucking with him yes.
If the turning didn't suck huge piss clouds it wouldn't be a problem but it tends to be one a lot of other places
Ah, okay. Still, nice drawings and cute characters!
Evan Torres
06's story isn't that good, don't think too much about it.
Ryan Lopez
>Sans Adventure 3
John Peterson
and it'll be even longer since the last good game if you rush them
Christian Brown
Mortar Canyon was the first stage in the entire game that immediately after I beat it for the first time, I actually went and replayed it to just to have fun again. Seriously. Every other stage up until then felt like busy work. If every stage was like this and was twice as long, the game would have been decent. Not perfect, but definitely a 7+/10.
>no 2D sections Wouldn't that make it the only boost Sonic level to not have any then? Well fuck, no wonder I enjoyed it.
Lucas Taylor
all the songs without an overuse of synths are great. This one is my favorite but it's a shame it takes so long to get good and that good part is so short
Jackson Gray
>they made the stage where he has elise what were they thinking
Liam Thompson
Thanks. This is the first time I've properly played one of your levels, and I'd like to say that it plays very nicely. Running over those hills while listening to the rapid clicking of Sonic's feet feels quite thrilling.
Jordan Peterson
They're remaking 06, user.
James Foster

Ian Rivera
The definitive Sonic 06 experience.
Josiah Cooper
What's the point of have Super Sonic if you can do that without him?
Carson Taylor
That's probably what Sonic Team was thinking too. That's why he's last minute DLC
Christian Lopez
No wonder Sonic goes after the alternative Amy.
John Miller
because boost sonic is fundamentally flawed and renders Super Sonic useless outside of final story cutscene bosses
Ethan Rogers
The Avatar customization options should be moved to Sonic and friends in future titles. Does anyone else agree?
