trying to do the two brothers quest for cheburashka, but when the fridge explodes and the bandit comes out, he starts shooting at me instead of laughing and so I have to kill him. Then the other brother is perpetually mourning his brother's death and the quest is broken. Do I need to / is there a way to improve relations with bandits so the quest will work?

i'm a little further into the game (just before going to de-activate brain scorcher) and i've killed quite a few bandits so idk if thats a problem. i talk to the brother and he goes to the fridge and blows up just fine, but when the bandit comes out he just tries to kill me. I tried hiding from the bandit until he laughs and it seemed to work, but when i come out he tries to kill me again (except now he's become invincible)
is there a way I can improve relations with bandits? or is it designed only for a beginner quest when your relations with bandits arent that bad?

Yeah I did it at the start of the game, it probably is intended to be done back then.

AMK and its spinoffs literally have areas where you can't save, as the saves get corrupted. Play AA2 or find another mod entirely. CoC is fun as well.
